Got my 7P on Friday and no issues so far. Battery life has been great. And i can probably count on one hand the number of times fp sensor has failed. No issues with reception either. So overall it feels like quite the improvement compared to its predecessor.

I had the 6P for a couple of months earlier this year and i, like many others had battery, reception and fp issues with it which made it unusable for me and so it had to go.

But it is good to be back on a Pixel again since there is just a smoothness in the ui i only experience with stock android/pixel.

Seems like with my use of a phone, I'll get anywhere from 5-7 hours of SOT on the P7P. Very good, as my typical day is around 3 hours or so. I'll end each typical day around 40-50%.

That's a lot of mixed used too. Inside, outside, wifi, 5G. I'm mostly a browser/scroller too so I probably push the refresh rate a bit higher than some who stream a lot of content and such.

Here is how to easily swap e-sims on an T-Mobile without talking to anyone. An introverts dream! It looks way more complicated than it is. It can be done in maybe 3-5 minutes, but T-Mobile warns in some instances it may take up to 2 hours.

Moving iPhone to Pixel:

1. Go here and you will pick the device you want to update.
2. It will ask which line you want to update.
3. It will ask if you want to update sim to new device or update sim in current device. Choose new Device.
4. It will ask for you IMEI. For Pixel 7, give the IMEI from sim slot 2 (E-sim)
5. It will ask for the EID. Go to settings, about phone, sim status (slot 2) for the EID (scroll down a bit)

After this you will just follow the instructions and probably hit confirm a few times. T-Mobile will text your iPhone and you reply with a "1" saying you approve the sim swap. If you do nothing in 10 minutes, it is approved anyways.

Now head back to your Pixel to activate the e-sim:

1. Make sure you're on a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
2. From your home screen, tap Settings > Network & Internet.
3. Next to SIMs, choose the plus symbol (+).
4. Tap Download a SIM instead > Next > T-Mobile.
5. Use your phone camera to scan the QR code below.
6. Tap Download to download your eSIM.
7. Once your eSIM finishes downloading, tap Settings > T-Mobile and turn on Use SIM.
8. Tap Switch to T-Mobile to connect to the T-Mobile network.

Moving Pixel to iPhone:

1. Go here and you will pick the device you want to update.
2. It will ask which line you want to update.
3. It will ask if you want to update sim to new device or update sim in current device. Choose new Device.
4. It will ask for you IMEI. For iPhone go to settings, general, about, and scroll down to find IMEI2 (2nd slot is e-sim).
5. It will ask for the EID. For iPhone go to settings, general, about, and scroll down to find the EID.

After this you will just follow the instructions and probably hit confirm a few times. T-Mobile will text your Pixel and you reply with a "1" saying you approve the sim swap. If you do nothing in 10 minutes, it is approved anyways.

Now head back to your iPhone to activate the e-sim:

1. Make sure you're on a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
2. Watch for a notification on your device that your T-Mobile cellular plan is ready to be installed.
3. Tap the notification to download your eSIM and connect to the T-Mobile network.

If you did not receive the notification after two minutes, follow these steps.

1. From your home screen, tap Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan.
2. Select T-Mobile New Cellular Plan, then Continue to download your eSIM and connect to the T-Mobile network.

First "Google" phone since Nexus 6. Had all the Nexus phones back in the day. Still give the edge to the 14 Pro Max. Some bugs with Pixel, but nothing took crazy. Did a little wood grain finish on both 👍

Is there a way to change the order of the home screen pages on pixel? I know on Samsung you hold down and drag the pages?

You'll need a 3rd party Launcher for that. Try Nova Launcher
Speaking of Nova, I'm doing a little bit of research on my end as I have been having an issue with my AOD turning off on me and I want to see if the double tap to sleep gesture that I have with Nova is the cause.. so I just turned it off this morning and let's see today if I have any issues.. otherwise Nova has been running smoothly on the pixel with no issues and I would definitely recommend

Well see, even if it takes 3 to 5 minutes, that's 2 to 4 minutes longer than just swapping out your sim card and it will never take up to 2 hours.

Imo just because there is something new to accomplish something the old way does it, don't mean you should do it when there is no benefit.

The Sim card was the main reason I'm with t mobile so I didn't have to call anyone or do anything to swap a phone.

shame. I don't plan to download Nova to be honest. It seemed to slow down my device on my samsung.
I've been running Nova on my Flip 4 and the P7P now and it's buttery smooth .. I recommend checking out the 8.0 which has nice integration with the latest Android ..

Keep in mind that Samsung loads its own Launcher on top of Android. It's possible the Samsung Launcher could be responsible for that. I would try it just to see. My past experience with Nova Launcher is that it's NO slower than the stock Android Launcher. I have been using Nova on and off since 2013.

I just don't understand anyone having more than one phone. 😂
I have a 14 PM sat there (going back once the bag arrives) and I haven't touched it since I got the 7 Pro and have absolutely no reason to. Why would I need it?!!

Madness. 😜 (to me). To each their own! It just would never work in my set up. I have a company issued work phone (the original SE) and it's terrible but no one calls these days anyway. All Comms is through Teams.
It sounds pretty cool to be in the UK and not be as tied to iOS and iMessages as a lot of us in the USA are.

I’m probably not going to do the Samsung/Pixel/iPhone thing anymore except on beach vacations where my 6 Pro can get shots Samsung and IPhone can’t.

As for upgrading them, I’m feeling the excitement here over the Pixel 7/7 Pro for sure. I’m loving everyone’s posts and enthusiasm for this new phone. It’s hard to resist the urge to trade my 6 Pro. But even without pwm concerns and concerns over taking on a bill I don’t need right this moment, yeah I’m feeling I’m gonna stop now.

Agree, Nova is great. Used it for years, just finally found another in Microsoft launcher that is good as well.

Well pretty soon you likely won't have a choice unless you hang on to old devices.

I'm going to love to see the eSIM history of a few people over here once we start flipping back and forth with our phones lmao.,.

Did I say I love the face unlock? I know it's not for payments and stuff but around the house. Just pick up the phone and into it without having to do anything. Most definitely better than having to press...

100% agree, SIM swapping is so easy and quick.

You would think on paper an eSim should be much faster, you shouldn't need to make a phone call or anything, or need to go through a million steps. Should be just be a setting in Network on the phone to enable / disable it

Thank God I have zero desire to ever go back to an iPhone anytime soon, unless iOS is radically redone, which will never happen, so I'm perfectly happy staying with the Nexus / Pixel line. And iMessage LOL who cares. Just use Telegram, Signal or God forbid even WhatsApp over iMessage.

This eSim thing would keep me from wanting to dual wield phones

That was my expectations as well. My when I first heard about eSIM's I was expecting to download and eSim to each of my phones. Turn on only the one I was using using and viola it works. When I want to use another phone, just turn off the others. Unfortunately that's not how it works.

But what you described it exactly how it SHOULD work....
