The iPhone 13 PM and Pixel 7 Pro are on equal terms. It boils down to whether you prefer iOS or Android. The 7 Pro is a seriously good phone. Pretty much everything about it is solid. The only negative about the 7P is that the iPhone will always fetch more in a trade because of the brand.

This is a rare case where Google is actually offering more than the market value of the phone. They’re offering $950 for the 13 Pro Max and right now on Swappa they’re going for about $100 less after Swappa take their cut.

Google appears to finally get it and that means they are more laser focused on their core hardware products. That is probably why they have been so generous this year with trade ins. Im getting back almost the full price of my Pixel 4a. Perhaps they are getting serious about the hardware line. Quadra the Mod is also getting back almost what he paid for his Pixel 6. If you really want a Pixel you are getting an awesome deal on trade in alone as well as your $200 Google Store credit, that’s if they are still giving store credit.

Here’s an article on Google focusing on their hardware products.

How’s everyone experience been so far? I’m especially curious how the signal, battery, and FP sensor have been compared to the 6?

Right now Google is offering the Pixel 7 Pro in a straight swap (almost) for the 13 Pro Max. I was interested in this phone at first, but the reviews seems shockingly positive so far. Figures the one Pixel I haven’t bought turns out to be the first relatively smooth one.
I like my Pixel 7 Pro, but still prefer for 14PM. iOS apps are just more polished. I like the iPhone screen better on 14PM. Have had a few bugs on the Pixel 7 Pro (And still stuck on July 2022 Security update). Face unlock very finicky on Pixel 7 Pro and not a fan of the finger print scanner. iPhone Face ID is much better and more secure, plus it unlocks with my Watch. I also use Apple Music with Airplay 2 a lot on my Denon receivers, old Airport Express, HomePod Mini's, etc for synced audio. There is an app to do Airplay v1 on Android, but v2 is much better. Airpods Pro 2 work better on iPhone. You have to change Bluetooth Audio Codecs to get it to work, but it always seems to go back to default (other Androids I own don't have this issue). Battery life quite a bit better on 14PM. Not a huge fan of the curve of the 7 Pro.

Overall, it's still my favorite current Android.

Sending the pixel back. It’s WiFi won’t stay connected to my house WiFi. When I try to reconnect it won’t. I have to force my WiFi to 2.4ghz for it to work and then it will eventually drop. No other device has this issue. Thankfully it showed itself before I shipped off my s22 ultra which is staying. I liked the phone otherwise. Was very snappy.
I'm sorry to hear it but at least you gave it a shot.. you try to reset the network settings and connect back to the Wi-Fi again with the pixel?

Fyi - returns to bellroy not a pleasant experience. Have to cover return shipping and before they approved for RMA I had to send a ton of pics proving the case AND box for the case were in perfect unused condition.
Good to know!

Case looks interesting to me, but not going to support a company that makes their customers go through a PITA process to have something serviced.

Biggest bummer about getting the 7 is that 2 of my cases are essentially landfill items now. I can't use the case on the newer phone due to different sizes and such. Both of my 6 cases are in awesome shape!

Pixel 7 is supposed to be here tomorrow!

Going to have the weekend to play around with cameras and such on both before I send the 6 in.

Now to find a case I like....

So you did pretty good on your trade, right? You got back $490 for the Pixel 6 and $100 store credit on a $599 phone. Not bad as the 1 year rental set you back $5.

Switched back to QHD+ on my 7 Pro and will see what happens with the battery life tomorrow. I hadn't noticed any discernable difference with 1080p, but would be nice to use the screen at its best setting.

Will see how battery is by end of day tomorrow. 👍🏻

Yeah, it wouldn’t reconnect without me forcing 2.4ghz. Something was off on it. Found others on Reddit having the same issues with it. I didn’t want to get stuck with it when my s22 was perfectly fine. So I backed out of it.

I honestly can't tell the difference between FHD+ and QHD+. I see the text on the menu bar shift a little bit but that's about it. I also dropped it down to 90Hz and it appears just as smooth as 120Hz now. Oh well, I still wanted a large screen and I really dig the Hazel color on the 7 Pro.

Haha I think the Q in QHD+ looks nicer on my phone with the higher setting

My battery life is good (better than 6 Pro), but not great (14 Pro Max). On my 14 Pro Max I'd end the day around 40-50%. On my 7 Pro I end the day around 20-30%. I did have one heavy day of use that I had to charge around dinnertime as I was under 10% already.

I have had QHD+ and 120Hz on the whole time. I'm done with messing with too many settings to try and squeeze out extra battery life on Android. Part of my routine for a decade or more now has been to dive into battery settings to get savings when first setting up my Android phones. I'm at a place now where I just want to enjoy the phone with all the bells and whistles because the battery is good enough and I have so many charges everywhere that I can always top off easily.

Really enjoying the phone though. Between the Pixel case and my $7 clear Amazon case, I prefer the $7 one. The Pixel case is very nice, but also very slippery. I had a few close calls so I went back to the grippier Amazon case.

I know we always say we like the standby time on the iPhones and all, but I just feel like when I'm carrying an iPhone or my Android phone, my Android phone does all the heavy lifting.. so I can't really compare battery since I'm always using my Android phone. That's just me though

I’ve hardly seen a difference today with QHD+ toggled on with battery. So that’s good. I’m just going to keep it on.

I do find that Pixels battery saver (and extreme battery saver) are actually good at saving those last few percents should I ever need to use it.

Have I ever told you all how much I flippin hate FedEx!

Screen Shot 2022-10-28 at 6.36.00 PM.png

Honestly hate this company (FedEx) I dropped my corporate accounts for them a couple years ago. Every single Pixel I order is delayed and delivered days after they initially tell me it will be here. Two day delivery is always 1 or 2 from UPS, Fedex, it's usually 5.

Oh well. Enjoying my Pixel 6 a bit longer. ;)

Oh i hear ya!! Hate FedEx with a passion!! I was due to receive a package yesterday... Then it got moved to today and now their website won't even display any tracking info... The status went from 'out for delivery' to now 'pending'..

Ugh that's not good especially if one might end up just using the thing as a wifi device. Another google phone with radio problems 😖...
