From an article on the main page, and this is just absolutely stunning:

pixel-7-iphon-14-pro-max-night-portrait-1.jpg

I don't feel like fanning the flames of the OS wars in that thread, but I think I would pick every Pixel photo comparison based on my preferences.
as a photographer I don't understand that shot. iPhone looks like direct flash, where the pixel 7 pro looks like a remote flash or light source.

I didn't read the article / review it yet but am a bit dubious on the entire thing.

That said, I have been happy with my base pixel 7 as far as photos go!

Edit my take

Light offset from camera.

Ugh, not sure that’s a fair comparison. In the iPhone photo, the user clearly uses the flash instead of night mode. Of course it’s going to look terrible.

Anyone familiar with the steps to bounce between an eSim (iPhone) and a physical sim? Would I have to contact T-mobile every time I switch?
Somewhere in this thread I wrote instructions for going eSim to eSim. I posted a link to Tmobile where you would request the change. I believe one of the options on that page was to enter a SIM card number to transfer to.

I am not sure about TMO but VZW will let you activate a device and enter the SIM card numbers to activate the SIM card. I am sure TMO has something similar

Anyone here a member of the Superfans group and have a Pixel referral program code they want to share? I’m ordering another 7 Pro and would like to get the $100 credit for us both!

Well, I think I came to a decision about picking up a p7 pro... I'm not.

Courtesy of a all the problems I've had with them. Further set off tonight trying to update my pixel 3a which has had the system update nag for the last few months and now I finally decided to update the unrooted thing (been unrooted for a while while I did the last batch of updates) and now it just sits and spins...

Preparing system update then a large spinning circle. Went on for about an hour for a less then 10mb update. Rebooted. Same thing. Set to airplane mode to force it to fail and again.

Sigh. I don't know what's next. Don't know why I have such bad luck with the pixel nexus devices. Got one or two decent ones out of a pile of lemons. 😞😫

I don't know maybe I'm just tired from work and frustrated. Really wanted the pixel nexus line to work better for me. Just tired of having issues with mine :(

The 3a is quite an old device.
Personally I wouldn't let that stop you picking up a 7 if you were interested in one.
Most of us here have had zero issues with our 7 and 7 Pros, and that's the general consensus across the web from what I have seen.

Most places have a return period, so if it doesn't work for you, just return it?

It bothers me that both Pixel and Samsung treat the smaller version of the phone as inferior models. Why can Apple make the Pro and Pro Max have pretty much the same features except battery and screen size but Android keeps a lot of features for just the larger versions.

Anyways still using my Pixel 2 and it's been great but the battery is definitely a shell of its former self.

Sorry if you’ve already said why in an earlier post but why the change back?
No worries at all.. I have both phones so normally I flip the SIM weekly or so on whichever two Android phones I own ..I wanted to stay longer on the P7P to test drive it since release ..it's a solid phone for me .. I've noticed improvements from the P6P and minor hiccups ...

Yeah it is, was old when I got it. I did a little digging and evidently there is a snag with this one with updates. The update is not a huge deal but it's rather annoying I unrooted and still have to jump through hoops for things. Kind of ironic I guess.

Might try again but shesh it seems like I know how to pick these devices 😖🤕

I've been reading and looking into the p7 here and there.

Sorry if it’s been mentioned anywhere else in the thread but how’s battery life on the 7 pro now people have had time to run them a while?

Absolutely no issues with the Pixel 7 Pro battery. On a moderate usage day I can end up having over 50% left. On heavy usage I'm still ending the day on high 20% to 30%. It is way better than the iPhone 14 Pro that I had briefly.

Some days I could theoretically push my P7P to 7 hours SOT if streaming video or constantly web browsing, where other days I would be lucky to hit 4 hours SOT if I'm bluetoothing in the car a lot; it really just depends on what I'm doing on those days. One thing is extremely consistent though, I'm ending my days in the 45-60% left range so I'm more than happy with the battery.

It's now been weeks and I have still not had my Pixel 6 Pro assessed for trade in. My regular 6 was assessed last week and refunded but I'm still £340 down whilst I wait for Google.
I'm a bit annoyed really as they make you pay up front for the 7 then refund you which is fine if it's in a timely manner.

Not even sure if I can chase but I will try. The tracking shows my 6 Pro was delivered on 22/10 or 10/22 if you're American 😋. So they need to hurry up!
