I tried a bunch of different methods I found online and none would work. The phone shut down about an hour ago and I can’t get it back on now.

This brings up another downside of eSim. I tried transferring back to my 14 Pro Max but T-Mobile requires me to give them a validation code sent via text, which I can’t access. I chatted with T-Mobile support and they couldn’t help unless I logged into my account, which is trying to do 2 factor, by you guessed it, sending me a text. They told me to go into store with my ID if I can’t get the pixel up and running.

I’m leaving it plugged in and will try powering on from time to time. But for now I have access to my messages or phone calls.
So sorry you are having issues @noobinator :-(

I agree that is is the issue with eSim and activation codes. I went through this with VZW most times when I switch phones. They want to send a verification code to a phone number on the account. But that is feasible if you only have one line on your account.

I expect the eSIM issues to eventually get resolved in the future as the carriers and NVMO's adjust to eSIM's but for now it's a work in progress aka PITA.

This all reminds me of how credit report freezes and unfreezes were handled in the US 10-12 years ago. At first it was like pulling teeth and now it's been simplified to the point that you can go to the different credit agencies and just to a temporary credit report freeze or unfreeze.

I am really tempted to import a 14 PM from Canada that still uses a sim card. Then wait for esim to evolve next year

I left my 7 pro plugged in all night and magically this morning it was on like nothing had happened. I woke to a ton of messages because I wasn't responding since I didn't have access to phone or messages for over 12 hours. I transferred my eSim back to my iPhone 14 PM for now (and surprisingly that was a very smooth/easy process) to prevent this from happening again where I can't access my messages and phone.

Hoping it was just a weird glitch. I'll put the sim back to the Pixel eventually. I really do love the 7 Pro.

My experince is going from Android to IOS is much easier. For some reason IOS handles the esim activation much more spoothly. I think in the the carriers systems Android phones can be either sim card or esim and the software get stuck so to speak.
Anyway glad it is back up and working for you.

Picked up a 6A for $300 just to try and it’s almost too good. The 60hz screen is smooth and it’s very light and comfortable to hold. Feels very polished. There’s a good deal on the 7 Pro…$589 from Mint but I can’t imagine it being worth double the cost when the 6A is so good! Still, tempted to try the 7 Pro as well.

This is the first time since buying an iPhone 4 that I am considering going back to Android. The only reason I ever went Android originally was because AT&T didn’t work in my area but still. Phone prices have gotten out of control when the experience is 90% the same so the Pixel is a refreshingly good value.

Anyone here a member of the Superfans group and have a Pixel referral program code they want to share? I’m ordering another 7 Pro and would like to get the $100 credit for us both!
If you still need it, let me know. That goes for anyone else in the US - DM if you want my code to get a Google Store credit of $100 after buying your Pixel.

My Pixel 7 has been working solid since I got it, as has my Pixel Watch. I can charge my watch while making breakfast and getting ready for work in the morning and won't need to charge it again until the next morning.

The trade-in process has been absurd. USPS is HORRIBLE - it took a week for my phone to travel from Albany to Jersey City. Overall the phone has been in transit since Oct. 19 and it STILL hasn't been received/assessed.

Is it $299 already? I thought it wasn't until that price until another week or so?

You’re putting a lot of faith into Googles customer service, lol. But that does sound like the best way to get the max discount.

I’m actually a member of Pixel Superfans as well. Where do I find the discount codes?
I know it's a lot of faith in Google lol. Worst case scenario is they don't honor the Black Friday discount and I would still have time to return the device and reorder.

They didn't send the code to all Superfans, just a select amount. The email was titled "(insert name), the Pixel referral program is here". The details are "As a Pixel expert, refer a friend and you’ll both get a $100 Google Store credit when they buy a new Pixel with the code below. You can refer up to ten friends and take home up to $1,000 in credit. And with your first successful referral, Superfans get a little something extra."

Mine is showing as it hasn’t been delivered. I shipped last month. Not sure what happens if it gets lost, but assume I’d get credit as they covered shipping.

Guess I was lucky with my trade-in. Shipped mine Oct 18, confirmation of receipt on Oct 25 and verification of trade in amount on Oct 26.

Loving the pixel / nothing ear 1 combo so far.

View attachment 2109949

Fun fact, the nothing case has scratch protection built in and installed. Case should hold up better than 3x more expensive AirPod pro.

ANC has been great and the BT sync on my google account is a neat touch
I see the screen protector is on so slightly off. Same on my pixel 6 its just hard to get it exactly right on the first applying of it

A reddit user claims that as of today, T-Mobile customers will no longer be able to transfer sim to another phone (physical or eSim) via their online system, and must be done in person or a call to customer care. I fear this is there way to add a fee and ensure they get paid the fee. They recently added a $35 fee for "connecting a new device to the network when activating or upgrading with T-Mobile".

This is 100% going backwards and if this is true, T-Mobile is now truly just as bad as the rest.

so far VZW has not chanrged for switching devices that has already been used on my account. So technically is is not activating a new device on my account.

But I hope TMO gets some backlash for this action and they reverse course.

Ah nothing like a little GREED to hide behind the inflation narrative as an excuse!

I LOVE this country!
