I've gotta say that I have gotten too used to swiping from right to left to go back. I wished iOS and iPadOS had this feature. I find myself doing that on the iPad and realize it's not a feature of the OS. :p
I totally agree. The gesture support on iPhone sucks always hunting for the back arrow. While on my Samsung I just swipe.

Right now I am dealing with T mobile nightmare of trying to unlock my IPhone bought through BestBuy. I paid it off and used it for over a year but they have been refusing to unlock it for almost a month and about two weeks of calling daily.

I am very close to just trading my iPhone in for a Pixel 7 Pro because I don't want an iPhone 14 without a sim tray. Of course getting another 13 pro max seems pretty impossible to get new now.

After the recent update, my fingerprint sensor still isn't good. It was supposed to make it better but now if I even try to make another fingerprint, it times out before it's finished.

Fingerprint sensor can be rather finicky. My s22 plus which uses ultrasonic sensor works half the time and this is with 3 scans of the same fingerprint!

I do have a tempered glass screen protector but it is a Spigen brand not some cheap brand. I always use a glass protector so I just have to deal with it.

I would think optical scanner would be better as long as it can see or has enough light. I have used both in the past and both seem about the same in reliability but ultrasonic seems a little faster.

Call them Monday and escalate it to upper support management. They are the only ones who can unlock it.

I have talked to supervisor, is there a difference between a supervisor and upper support management? Do I just ask for upper support management and not a supervisor. I was planning to switch my service today as my account will be billed for another month tomorrow. I have a new sim from another carrier ready to go. I am afraid if I do the switch today my chances of unlocking my IPhone will be even worse as I won't be a customer at that point on Monday.

After 2 1/2 hours I was hung up on twice. I really hate T mobile. I can get $825 for trade in on a Pixel 7 Pro and it will be unlocked. I am really tempted to just go that route and say goodbye to T-Mobile. They used to have great customer service but now it is pretty terrible. Sad.

YES! As a general rule, never take NO for an answer when you are the customer. That means you need to be persistent, upset and persistent is good but don't get hostile. For example when you talk to them, come across with confidence in a way they know, that you know they are not telling you the truth.

Supervisor: Mr Technerd108, I see you've called several times about this issue and unfortunately there is nothing I can do for you. You need to speak to Best Buy who sold you the phone so they can unlock it for you.

Technerd108: Sir/Madam with all due respect, I can't accept that answer because Best Buy is just the retailer i.e. the "Middleman". They order the phone from Apple and sell it lock with T-Mobile as the carrier. They do the same for AT&T and Sprint. Now if you told me that Apple is the one I need to call so they can unlock the phone then that would be a different matter because they make the phone. And you know what Apple would tell me, right? The phone is locked to T-Mobile as the carrier and they need to unlock it. Mr. Supervisor that is industry standard. That applies to Xfinity Mobile, T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Cricket etc.

Technerd108: So Mr. Supervisor, I need you to unlock my phone and if you can't do it, I need you to give me the name and number of your supervisor or manager so they can help me unlock my phone. And don't let them transfer you in case Mr Supervisor hangs up on you.

You can also tell them that you chatted with Best Buy and they told you it is T-Mobile that can only unlock the phone. REMEMBER one important reason why it is the carrier that can only do it. The carrier has network access to the SIM card or eSIM. You need network access to unlock the phone. APPLE and BEST BUY doesn't have network access, which is why they can't unlock the phone.

All this back and forth about the fingerprint sensor just tells me one thing…it still isn’t good. It’s more of the same with Google, cutting hardware corners and trying to bridge the gap with software. I still don’t understand why Google abandoned Soli. The face unlock worked great. They scraped it because the side features didn’t work well but they should’ve focused on the fact that the scanner was excellent for biometrics which is far more important.

Google has put the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro on sale again, same price as the BF sale ($150 off the Pro and $100 off the non-pro). PM if you want the code @Technerd108 or anyone else, but @Technerd108 has right of first refusal.
I saw it. I actually already bought the Pixel 7 Pro. I didn’t know how long the discount would last so I just went for it. On top of the discount the trade in value for my iPhone is very high. Essentially the phone is free.

As I understand the code it gives you a hundred of your next purchase? Which would have been nice to get a case and screen protector or discount on Pixel buds or tablet. I could possibly cancel the order and try again?

After going through Unlocking hell with no resolution in sight I am regretfully going to trade in my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I like the phone a lot and am not sure I am going to be happy with the Pixel. The iPhone I have is the last one with a sim tray and it is still a great phone. I just hope I don’t miss iMessage with family and integration with my Mac and iPad.

Thank you for the offer!!

Alright looking for honest opinions here.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max has served me well. I may not be able to unlock it but there is still a chance I will. I am switching away from T mobile unless they offer me some free service once my phone is hopefully unlocked.

That being said I have already ordered an unlocked Pixel 7 Pro in black. It won’t cost me a penny once they get my iPhone. I have been an Android user long before I switched to iPhone. But I have a lot of family who use iPhone and I have a Mac and iPad so I am in the ecosystem.

I have a few options. I keep my iPhone and cancel the Pixel order and hope T Mobile does the right thing. I still have a year of Apple care too.

I keep the Pixel 7 Pro, trade in my iPhone and wait for the 15 release.

I go to Cricket pay $60 a month for unlimited and get an iPhone 11 for $99 and keep the Pixel. Trade in my iPhone.

I trade in my iPhone and keep the pixel and go with boost unlimited for $25 a month.

I keep my iPhone and use T mobile pre paid for $35 a month for 10gb data.

What would you do in my shoes? Trying to keep costs down. If I go with Cricket I get HBO max free and I have a monthly subscription now for $15 a month so I could cancel that and my service would cost $45 a month.

If I keep my iPhone or get the 11 I keep the ability to use a SIM card which I prefer. I also like the lcd screen on the 11.

Has anyone switched from a recent Pro iPhone and gotten the 7 pro? What are your opinions?

Any feedback on Cricket/Boost Mobile vs. T mobile??

Thanks guys/gals etc.! Appreciate your feedback!

T Mobile unlocked my BB bought 13 Pro Max in less than 10 mins, no problem …I traded in my 12 PM at BB for the 13 PM and had TMobile unlock it the same day!

Have you tried contacting them on Twitter ? TMobile help on Twitter is much more customer focussed and helpful, than calling 611. Try that, if you haven’t already…

I’ll be hanging on to the 13 PM to avoid the e-sim hell as long as possible!

Goodluck man!

Just got the Pixel 7 Pro in obsidian.

The UI is a lot different than Samsung. So far I like it. It seems just as responsive as my S22 plus or iphone 13 pro max. The battery life on a new phone also seems pretty good so far. I have been using it rather hard for a couple hours maybe a little longer with screen brightness at 70% and it is at 80%. Not bad.

I was very reluctant about getting a phone with a curved screen as I generally hate them but the curve isn't too bad. I also do notice the higher resolution vs my S22 plus at 1080p. I like the higher resolution.

I was going to trade in my iphone 13 pro max because it was sim locked and I am still thinking about it depending on what T mobile does but I really like the iPhone 13 pro max. So hopefully T mobile unlocks the device by tomorrow as they promised and then I will sell the S22 plus. I am going to test this phone out for a week to make sure I like it but so far I do.

The cameras seem good. Speakers could be better balanced and louder but they are good enough.

I love vanilla android a lot and so far this device seems pretty stable. We will see over the next week but I was impressed how it got all my text messages and apps without an issue.

It is going to take a little while to really see if I like it but I tried briefly the text to speech and it is pretty amazing. I could have written this entire post by simply speaking. Not something I could do with any other phone.

In terms of build quality it feels right up there with the best. The small lip on the bottom of the display is disappointing. But other than that it feels like a very high quality phone. I like the size and weight. The screen is bigger than my S22 plus by just a bit and it is as wide as my iphone. My iphone is great but it is heavy. I can't wait for the titanium iPhones if they happen because stainless steel is just heavy.

Looking forward to seeing what this device can do over time. Checking reception with Samsung modem and testing out the Tensor G2. I have been trying to confirm the process node of the Tensor and I have seen a lot of conflicting information. Most sites say it is on Samsung 5nm but a few say 4nm. Would like to know the true specs.

Thought I would share some pics taken over the last two months. The main camera is just superb, I really thought my Note20 Ultra took great pictures, but two years of development is still a lot, tbh.

Do you guys think i should risk the tradein? I should only have to pay like 170 because of credit, but,im thinking wat if they lose my phone im trading in during transit? Im saving to move and having to pay the full price will **** me over. Once i move, even if i have to pay full price it wont be as bad cuz saving will be better and i can just work more hours to make up for it and keep rainy day funds in check. but will the trade in be the same? Im planning on moving this coming spring in USA

I traded in my phone and had NO problems. I received the agreed to price. I think everyone in this thread who traded in their phone had similar results. If you want, take pictures before you send it off in case something happens.

The only issue that was pretty common was that the Google update system didn’t keep up with the process in real time. So many were getting antsy wondering if Google received the phone, if it was process, if it was inspected, if it was approved. It all worked out in the end for me and everybody else.

Same here. No issues at all other than the process being a little slow.

So what screen protector do you all use for the Pixel 7 Pro? I tried a tpu protector and it is full of bubbles even doing it in the shower with steam and cleaning the screen. Most of the Amazon tempered glass ones seem to only have adhesive on the sides and I hate that.

I would like a tempered glass screen protector that doesn't use uv glue that has adhesive on the entire protector?

Curved screens will always have problems with screen protectors unless they stop before the curve starts. The ones that claim to work and cover the full screen are lying. They’ll bubble because their not engineered precise enough not to bubble.
