Not true at all. I actually did speak to a 16GB owner this past weekend (my 13 year old son). He told me he browses the web and watches stuff on YouTube and that he's never had space issues and didn't need anything more (though I got him the 64GB anyway just in case). I'm also friends with a number of people with 16GB who have no issues.

For us power users, we can't fathom how anyone could possibly make a mere 16GB work (my phone and pad are 128GB). But trust me, they exist. And in larger numbers than anyone gives them credit for. They just aren't the type of users who typically join sites like this (though I've seen a few here who say 16GB is more than enough for them).

Not everyone out there uses their devices as mini computers and not everyone out there actually needs or desires all that memory.

I still wonder about that though many have to and get by with 16GB. My middle daughter was complaining hers was acting "wonky" - she is a FB fanatic. When I looked her "Other" was just under 4GB in size . After restoring it worked good enough for her. I suspect she will be back for another fix.

Wait, are you implying this is not how capitalism works? His response was a little wonky but there is some truth to it.

I am talking on the basis of the launch week iPhone sales which were at 13 million vs 10 million for the 6 which proved the 6S having lower sales because of China. The production cut only forecasts the trend indicated by it.This article confirms it

http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-sales-will-decline-2016-1?IR=T&r=UK

No hyperbole at all. There is a reason they are launching the 6C just when the Galaxy S7 is gonna be released in addition to their 6S production cut

So basically you agree that performance has degraded but it doesn't matter because people don't notice it.You do realise that the situation is only going to worsen from herein

The launchpad and the Notifications bar in particular have bad animation stutters.Windows 10 manages to run smoother than OSX on my MacBook
Maybe they are releasing the 6c because people want a smaller form factor, especially in China.

My phone is the device of last resort (when I'm away from home, and didn't bring an iPad with me). As such, I always buy the smallest one available (8GB original iPhone, 16GB iPhone 4S), and I've never come close to using half of that space.

A.

I use my iPhone as an iPod a lot so it has a lot of music on it. I have over 10,000 songs on my computer and about 7,000 on my iPhone. I don't like music in the cloud because of data caps.

Seriously dude just don't buy any Apple products anymore. my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro with 8GB of RAM runs El Capitan just fine. You've gone from complaining to borderline trolling at this point. Are you going to attack the Apple TV next?

My MacBook runs El Capitan pretty good overall.Just saying that Yosemite and Windows run better on it

Well that's one type of consumer who buys the 16GB.There are others with less than 1GB of free space and suffering storage woes.Nearly half of the 16GB customers were unable to upgrade to iOS 8 because of low storage

Without 3D Touch?Model is gimped even before launch.Face it,the only reason it's launching is because the 6s sales are flatlining and the S7 would put a further dent in it.
Also this assumption that China likes 4inch phones is wrong otherwise Huawei or Xiaomi would have done that by now

Technology moves on as new stuff is developed.

Whining about obsolete computing type stuff is equivalent to wishing that companies would not do any R&D and we stay with the status quo for longer.

My iPhone 6 is a year old so it's obsolete now?

You are aware that after the peak of a release, sales tend to flat-line? Or is this a rather recent observation you made? Maybe Apple has some intel and market research you don't, if the rumors are even true?

As far as the s7 the usual threads are going to pop up, and people are going to claim all the usual stuff as seen here over the course of time.

Because the iPhone 6 sales did not flatline.

The S7 is the reason why the 6S production has been cut to make way for the 6c

No, your iPhone X is 'obsolete' because there is newer tech out typically within a year.

Whether or not that matters to you yet or not is another thing entirely, but don't expect Apple or any other company to stop iterating and making new stuff just because you bought a phone and think it should be good enough.

In my opinion,iOS 9 has already been at at peak optimisation level. The best OS for the iPhone 6 will always be 8.4.1 .Phone literally ran circles around anything I threw at it instead of this tired old lady I have right now

Schiller was interviewed and said that part of developing a product is deciding what features to keep and what to save for the next one (next gen). Also, when a product launches they are already developing the next one and sometimes even the one after that.

Thats a part of their planned obsolescence strategy where a calculated decision on when a product is to be made obsolete is done.No 3D Touch on the iPad Pro is a classic example

That was done specifically just for that purpose and not for plenty of other rational ones?

Is that why it's going to be present on iPad Pro 2?
Maybe on rational explanation is the technology wasn't ready for such as large screen yet and apple didn't feel it wasn't a negative not to have it. How many do you think are going to ditch a perfectly usable ipad just to get 3d touch? Technology moves on, that's the way of the world.

I am pretty sure they already had the technology to make 3D touch available for iPad Pro. They didn't ship it, just so that they can make iPad Pro obsolete faster.

Speaking of having the technology already...

It sure would be nice to "airplay" the 4K video I can record with my 6s to a 4K TV using the latest model of Apple TV. Maybe they will add support for it with a software update, both already support 802.11ac, so plenty of speed to stream it. My 6s connects to my airport extreme at 866 MB/s

Your "pretty" sure? Seems to be the essence of a lot of conspiracy theories around here, is that everybody is "pretty" sure. But let's not let having any facts about this get in the way of a good discussion. /s

Oh yeah, like you are "SURE" they didn't ship it because they didn't have the technology?
How are you SURE? For some reason people defend Apple no matter what and think whatever Apple does is right.

I never said I knew, all I offered up a counterpoint to that assertion. Much different than saying "pretty" sure.

For some reason people are quick to bash Apple without having any facts. And for some reason "bashing" is okay, but a counter-point isn't? Which by way, a counter-point is not the same as defending.
