Enough of these critic reviews. They are all envious because they know that the iPhone is truly a revolutionary phone and they just try to make it look bad. They want one but can't get one.
The iPhone is going to be greater than the iPod in popularity, I am predicting.
Yeah, I'm sure the critics are envious because they invent lots of phones.
I'm an Apple fan. I love Apple.
I think the iPhone is a huge dud. For one, it's on a crummy network. AT&T stinks. There are connectivity issues and, of course, it's not CDMA. I'd take another smartphone over EVDO, thank you very much.
Second, the people that this is aimed at used there phones all day. Battery life is good, but I know a lot of people who have two or three batteries that they switch out in their phones every day. Can't do that with iPhone.
Third, the expense is huge. You can get an equally as capable phone for much, much cheaper on a superior network.
The good news is that durability does not appear to be a concern, though I'd guess that it was one on prototypes since Apple decided to use glass instead of plastic.
There will be a big push initially by technogeeks that can't control their impulses. The real test will be down the line when the problems start to become well known. It's not a money loser, but Apple's not going to dominate like they thought and AT&T will regret getting in bed with a company like Apple that makes too many demands.
I know people at Verizon and, as reported, they were offered the iPhone first. Without Apple's demands they would have been interested, but their research indicates that this thing won't make a dent long term in the market. That's one reason why they weren't interested at all. I think AT&T will try to find a way to back out of carrying the iPhone within a year and Apple will be left with a poorly executed product that doesn't address the needs of the market.
AppleTV and iPhone - two horrible ideas with poor execution. I hope it doesn't bleed into the iPod and Mac lineups.
