I am seeing some mostly great, inspiring photography skills in these posts. Making work slightly more bearable if I may say so.

A pic of my fiancee's cat. I went ahead with this because as far as THE CAT is concerned, I'm hers as well. She is very clingy and a bit of an attention addict, to the point that I started a twitter feed (@Overlyclingy Cat).

My girl Luna

Luna, Luna and her friend Stella (American Eskimo). Luna was a puppy mill breeder who was rescued after being sent to a kill shelter (with 8 others) who outlived their "usefulness." They were all saved and flown to my state by a rescue group where Luna adopted me. She's a good gal with a kind heart. The reason she and Stella look so much alike is that Pomeranian and American Eskimo come from the same origin - German Spitz.

Does anyone have a Maine Coone? Thinking about getting one.

Incredible breed of cats. I had one growing up and he was our family pal, extremely faithful and intelligent, great company and companionship. They live long, too.

Adopt from a shelter!

A friend has one and it is one large cat! Your cat food bill will be large! It is a well behaved cat.

I'm not a cat person, but maine coons always stick out to me. I wanted a savannah cat but my wife told me no. So, now we are looking for a maine coon and I don't know of any animal shelters where I just moved. Plus, having the wife walk through one with me, I'm sure I'd walk out with a new pet and not a maine coon.

Nice, Main Coons rule. Def. do a Google search and try to find a nice shelter where you live - exhaust ALL possible shelters before adopting a kitten or something. Kittens are incredible to raise and a lot fun, but they're almost guaranteed to get adopted no matter what. Six months or older shelter cats (and dogs) aren't so fortunate.

Do what's necessary to adopt a six months (preferably a year) or older cat from a shelter if you can.

I am totally into getting older* dogs and while not a cat person in general, I may later this year adopt an older cat if it proves "gets along well with dogs." I got my dog when she was more than 6 years old and just remember, the day you get your dog/cat, is the day they start the best chapter in their lives.
