That is what I had thought; my understanding is that only Siamese and - maybe - Burmese cats had naturally occurring blue eyes?

I'm not sure that this is true. I know several Devon Rex and also a few Spyhnx with blue eyes. And, even better than that: some cats have two color eyes. My Devon Rex, Miette, is heterochromatic and has one blue and one gold. (She's also not deaf - that's a misconception about odd eyed animals. It only increases the chance of deafness in one ear by 20%)
