Had another rough landing this quarter of college. Decided to try and cheer myself up. As you can tell, this quarter sucked a lot of my budget.

Pita Pit for dinner with my sister and for dessert I made Bailey's Irish Cream cupcakes. They were delicious.

Dinner from Carnival in Sherman Oaks last night.

Grape Leaves, Babaganoush, Fatoush salad, and vegetables moussaka. Those pita chips are typically mixed into the salad, but they offered to keep them separate so that they don't get soggy if there is leftovers.

Have you tried Hummus Bar & Grill in Tarzana? If not, you must! I recommend getting a kabab plate and hummus. Or a hummus with ground kabab :)
They have a few kababs so ask for the Israeli one.

I haven't, but I've just added it to the list. It's not too far.....google maps says 10 minutes. Now I have a reason to go to Tarzana. :p

Thanks for the recommendation....

Well I think I found another favorite restaurant to go to. After trying for over a year to get a reservation thanks to the show Top Chef giving it popularity, I finally managed to get a reservation at Bryan Voltaggio's Volt restaurant.

The food was just delicious. Even the breads were delicious.

I start out with a drink called bittersweet. It's a mix of espresso and godiva caramel liqueur.

First course was a deconstructed clam chowder.

Second Course was sheep's milk cavatelli.

I also had a bit of my moms goat cheese ravioli. It was delicious.

Main course was dry-aged beef strip loin.

For dessert a deconstructed tiramisu.

I also split the chocolate ganache with my mom. This is the dessert to get.

Than compliments from the chef was this. Chocolate truffle, meringue, candied pineapple, and pistachio sandwich.

That was one of the best dinners I have had. Now for the battle to get a reservation again begins! :)

Or Schwartz ;) .....but I'm sure he's tired of smoked meat sandwiches

Snowdon >>>> Schwartz's

Schwartz's is good, but not as good as Snowdon.

Since you live in Toronto, you can go to Centre Street Deli in Richmond Hill. It's Snowdon Deli in Toronto. Get the Old Fashioned Smoked Meat sandwich! Their chicken knishes, pea soup, party sandwiches, and moon (sp?) cookies are amazing too.

A bagel that I bought on 3/22 that was said to expire on 3/22. I'm still alive ... looks like the expiration date was merely a suggestion.

Breakfast

Here is my normal breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice, pineapple, mango, strawberries, banana, cooked tomato, cooked small button mushrooms, whole wheat bread with homemade humus. I also take a fish oil omega3 and a multivitamin supplement. I am a vegetarian trying to remove all animal products from my meals.
