I'm guessing all these Comcast ones with high numbers is just PowerBoost in effect? They certainly didn't offer those types of full time speed when I had them last year.

Pretty darn close to the advertised 15/2 service. :)

 
does anyone know how Comcast regulates their speed tiers?

they give the exact same equip for all packages right?
(unless u have phone service i guess)

No, I get those sustained speeds, they are actually higher than what the speedtest shows, I did that over wireless, I have the 50mbit connection.

Their top two service tiers, Ultra and Extreme 50, require leased DOCSIS 3.0 modems. I have their Blast service, the highest level supported by DOCSIS 2.0 equipment.

I have the Ultra, it's pretty quick, and they even leave port 80 open! I think it's more of a business line!
