Some days I think I'd be better off on satellite. I called to complain about the upload link last week and was told that for an additional $10 a month I could get "up to 512 kbps." All I want is an upload speed of 1Mbps so that I can forward X11 over SSH and RDP to work. In order to get that, I'd have to pay an extra $50 a month for 5Mbps/5Mbps business class connection or switch to AT&T DSL and face a bandwidth cap. WTFF, Time Warner?

I moved to Canada last year, was shocked to see how slow the internet is and even more shocked they have usage capacity/month.
I lived in Korea most of my life and nearly got double that speed through wifi router provided by the ISP, and now with Rogers' top of the line consumer internet service and apple airport extreme that's the best I get.
Any other ISP recommendations for Toronto, Canada?
My university (University of New Orleans) only has Megabit lines to the dorms. Some buildings have Gigabit, other than that only wireless which is capped at 20 Mb/s.
My personal Cox connection is 22 Mb/s and no monitoring! UNO likes to sniff alot.
Because that won't solve the latency problems? And because I'm not terribly familiar with that technology and in this case since security is tantamount for most of my SSH traffic, I'm not prepared to try it at the moment and I'm pretty sure my employer isn't looking to add any more "cloud tech" to our infrastructure.
I moved into a new apartment over the weekend and finally got high speed Internet access again. I have three screen captures. The first is my office fiber. I wish I had the upload speed at home that I get at the office! Next is [was] my Sprint MiFi 3G that I have operated with for a long time, and then the last is my Charter Cable which I just hooked up on Friday.
