I'll never understand why people use Fahrenheit for CPU temperatures...

I'm usually around 65 C.

For the same reason the general American population doesn't use a crumb of the metric system?

Celsius:

Up north in Yorkshire :)
Every time I look at the temperatures on my iMac, it makes me cry!!! The last time I looked... after a short spout of some movie compressing... it was up to 81*C... :O

My Mac Pro on the other hand, somehow, manages to always keep below 50... even when under heavy load... I have noticed, that the fans sometimes end up painfully load... well... when it is under really heavy load in compressor... (However... this is very rare...)

Heading over to FaceBook...

Heading over to FaceBook...
and the temperature rises if I open FB in fullscreen mode.

I have to admit, my MBP was getting pretty hot and after some intense searching around the forums the last few days, I'm happy to report that I can use my MBP without a fire extinguisher at hand so I'm feeling a little better about the ridiculous heat waves that were coming off my machine.
At one point it was enough to warp the metal when I had my Verizon internet car plugged in... right above where the metal card slides in. just a little...I will live.

After reading through the temps on this software...that can't be right! Does anyone know of a good program that will give me some fair and correct readings? Pref something for free... should be a free app from Apple but they keep telling me this isn't a LAPtop and it's meant to be used as a notebook.
Ugh!

California... can you believe it?
im not sure.. i dont know what your country is like :p

THAT "ambient air" quote can not be right anyway!
I'm sitting here in pjs and a tank top with the front door wide open. It's about 1am
its near the opening vents - so its normally a few extra degrees hotter then the actual air is as the warm air from inside the computer gets blown near/on it.

That's too hot
53°C? that aint too bad.
