Also something I've noticed is that my fans typically pick up right after a MobileMe sync - does this happen to anyone else?

Click the i in the top left to go into settings (this is running iStat Pro by the way) and then enable everything in the Sections and Display tabs.

wow.. how incredibly stupid of me.

the only reason why i asked is bceause last time i tried that it didnt change anything, that was a coupla dozen versions ago so they might have fixed it then.

how do you show two cpu temps? like CPU a and CPU b? mine only shows CPU a temperature.

CPU temp = 90 deg C

transcoding a video file (avi to mp4), my CPU temperature is about 90 deg C (about 194 deg F) on a macbook C2D 2.16 GHz, 2GB ram (generation 1). According to iStat Nano.
