my black book is currently at 46C

what's the highest temp anyone's gotten their mac?

I've gotten 183 F before but i figured out the problem. I had 2 printers trying to spool that werent even connected to the computer so it was taking up the whole cpu basically.

Safe operation is defined as anything below 100°C. The catastrophic thermal protection temperature is 125°C; although it won't physically melt until 1400°C.

when I oc my quadcore, I try to limit my load cpu to 62.5C. I think the first thing I am going to do when I get a mac is reapply the tim.

if your gonna get a lappy, goodluck keeping it below 62.5°C!!!! thats all i can say haha

Also something I've noticed is that my fans typically pick up right after a MobileMe sync - does this happen to anyone else?

Happens with me too. According to iStat, MobileMe sync takes up a surprising amount of the cpu.
