i only know how to use centigrade... lol of course its °C, i wouldnt lie!

I'm quite sure your computer would be unusable at 110-120 degrees Celsius. Not to mention you'd barely be able to touch it. That's more than twice the normal idle temperature. Check your monitor's settings.

On my PC, both cores running at about 29 degrees C thanks to my Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.

lol yea it was bloody hot!! it stayed there for about a minute, the fans took a while to kick in for some reason  i was converting a dvd using handbrake (external dvd drive), and burning a dvd (internal dvd drive) aswell as just browsing the net and stuff. for some reason it didnt like burning the dvd, it just ripped the tempterature right up. the fans went up to 6k and the temp stayed around 85°C until it finished burning.

How to find the CPU Temp in Mac book

Hi there everyone,

I see most of you have the Cpu tables attached here, the thing with me is that i just bought a Mac book 2.4 ghz dual core 2 gb ram and 250 HD.
Can anyone tell me how can i go there and get a chance to see what you see.
and what would be the best temp to leave it running.
please help me out as this is my first mac. other than that i love it by the way...

Mine MBP is a 2.5GHz late 2008 model. Initially the temperature readings (all in degree Celsius) were:
CPU A: 42
GPU Diode: 48
GPU Heatsink: 41
Heatsink A: 43
Heatsink B: 32
Enclosure Bottom: 24

After following the suggestions here (run the SystemLoad and the 2 scripts to put CPU at full loading) and let it run for >10 mins (I was surfing the net and running Lightroom 2 as well) the readings were:
CPU A: 76
GPU Diode: 78
GPU Heatsink: 70
Heatsink A: 63
Heatsink B: 45
Enclosure Bottom: 30

I noticed, however, the fan speed of both fans (left & right) were increased to around 2560-2570 rpm instead of ~2000 rpm), so is my MBP normal?

Thanks!!

seems fine to me!!! the computer seems to think that the fans were going hard enough to keep the computer cool enough, i would of rathered that the fans come on higher to keep the computer more around 60-65°C but meh thats ok.

Well, just got this MBP for less than a month, so hopes that it'll stay that way... maybe I should grab that SMC fan control app and tune up the fan speed (which version should I get anyway)? Thanks!! :D

CORRECTION: Mine isn't the Unibody MBP, it is the previous model (with 8600 GT display)

Probably not "normal"
heh
iStat menus claim my rear fan is running at 565 rpm, I am unsure if that is accurate.

is this unhealthy for my macbook?

I own a intel core duo macbook, not a core 2 as far as i know. I got the laptop in September of '06, and i have been using a cooling pad for at least since mid '07 and i'm still using the same pad, i cleaned my cooling pad multiple times of dust, and for some reason it's starting to run very loudly, but it still runs ok.

Here's a screenshot of my istat, i think the temperatures are unhealthy and it's internal because the enclosure base is so cool...*Shrugs* what do you guys think is wrong? I only have firefox, itunes (not playing music), and ichat on.
