I happen to have my Bose TriPorts on at the moment:

Much better than pervious generations of the same model... The on-ear design is really comfy, and the sound quality seems to get better with each revision. Nice, lightweight alternative to the more bulky noise canceling model.

Old picture from my dorm in college, but the basic setup hasn't changed. It's fed from a Lenovo desktop now, though.

Nice headphones, exactly what I've been looking for. Do you need an amp to drive those, or are they fine plugged directly into iPod/iphone/mac ?

Thanks!

I haven't actually used a headphone amplifier before, So I will say no for now because it's out of my experience. But yes these headphones do work well without one.

They don't have a microphone for the iPhone, They are just stereo headphones with nice bass response.

Best Buy, $40.00 :)

I got them for traveling, because my Sennheiser HD280 Pros are around $100.00 and I didn't want to take them traveling for two reasons.

1) They are a bit more expensive, so if they break its more of a loss. While as $40.00 is easier to replace.
2) I really wanted headphones with microfiber ear pieces, because the "fake leather" ear pieces aren't comfortable for me to wear after a long period of time. (They get too hot)

MEElectronics M6s for around $20 shipped from Amazon a while back. They sound awesome and block out the noise from the bus ride to school too :D

Anyone have the Nokia bh-905i headphones? Not trying to high jack but I'm looking for some good BT headphones.
I looked at the Sennhiser 450&500 and kept seeing comparisons to the Nokias which are $200-300 cheaper...

Got 2 sweet pairs. I love the Nokia bh-905i's I just bought. They r great, wireless, clear phone calls and mic and the noise canceling is great.

Then I got home tonight and my wife bought the Vmoda Crossfades from Costco for $80. Nice gift. They sound good too. I'll probably use them for the gym.

Hey Guys, im looking for some good headphones around the $200 range. (No Beats By Dre ;) Some like them, i do not. I currently have some mildly cheep Sennheiser headphones. Cost me about £50 and i have generally been very pleased with them.I have recently gotten into listening to Music much more and would like some good headphones to take travelling with me and to use at home. I am going to America next week and would buy the headphones there. Looking at the $150 - $250 range. I am no professional, just appreciate good Audio. I listen mostly to Jazz, Country, Rock and Folk. Not the usual genres for a 17 year old haha. I like super clear vocals, thats the one thing which i appreciate the most. I am not overly bothered by Bass but of course it must be somewhat present.

So far i have looked at some Sennheiser's in that price range, Grado's and also some headphones from AKG. I specifically like the look of the AKG K702's which are currently $250 from Amazon. They used to retail for $400.

If someone could recommend me some headphones suited to me then that would be awesome. I would appreciate any contribution. I know you guys are clued up in the Audio sector and hopefully i can find some headphones which will enrich my passion for listening to music.

Also i guess i would need an Amp. Would the FiiO E7 be okay? The source of the music would be my iPhone. My budget for Headphones and Amp would be $250 - $300.

Many thanks, George.

I have also been looking at the Beyerdynamic DT 770-PRO's. Of course if other suggest headphones other than these and the AKG's then please share your suggestions.

I own the 250 ohm version and I'm thrilled with them. I drive them with a Woo Audio WA6 and my source is a Cambridge Audio Azur 550C CD player. The Beyer's are my favorite Headphone so far.

So i would not be able to Run the BeyerDynamic's off of my iPhone directly to start with? Would an amp like the FiiO E7 be able to drive them to a reasonable standard? The source would be my iPhone or when i am at home my iMac. I certainly don't want to spend $600 on an Amp and i would not be able to take an amp like that to school with me on occasions haha. Im just looking for some Headphones for casual usage, but of course i want them sound as good as you can get for the price point without having to buy other pieces of equipment. Im not talking of Audio at a "pro" level.

----------

Put simply, I am looking for the best pair of headphones for around $250-300 Max that will run off my iMac and iPhone. I don't mind if i need to get an Amp such as the FiiO E7 but i don't want to be buying professional grade audio Amps.

Just by looking at reviews, i think i may go for the Audio Technica ATH-M50. The reviews are outstanding, does anyone have any experience with these headphones?
