Lacking in bass and with an annoying treble peak, they still sound pretty good, especially if you love articulate tape hiss. Dubstep sounds like needles in the ears (then again, didn't it already?). It's pretty cool that they sound equally good ridiculously loud and ridiculously quiet.

The real magic is in the γ2 DAC, through which even lowly Grado SR80s (and my beloved triplefi 10s) sound good.

Well, the left earpiece on my UM3X broke...I think the wiring on the inside is loose or something because whenever I move it I get staticy noises.

But that just gave me a reason to upgrade! :D

Bought these today! And at a decently lower price than it should have been...especially in Canada.

How do you like the ATH-M50 headphones? I have a pair of AudioTechnica sets, but I would like a bit more bass.

I do like them but I've read if you get an amp for them the bass would improve. Using it on my iPod, the bass isn't that good but when I connect my iPod to my amp and use the M50s it is much better.

Just got my Beats Solo HD's and I don't care what others think, I love em. Also I struck a nice deal by getting them refurbished straight from Monster Cable, $100 off retail. Then whenever I wanna go under the radar, I'll pop in my Klipsch S4's. Both in my mind are wonderful and can be had for good prices if you hunt around.

I liked my purchase, and I know there's better ones out there. I found something that I liked in terms of design, fit, and the sound is good enough for me.

People need to get over this headphone snobbery. Seriously.

Don't we give people crap for going 'fanboy' over Apple or PC, Android or IOS, or even XBox or PS3? This is just more of the same tired crap.

It's about time someone understands. It's their money, let them do what they please.

JayMysterio: You now have headphones that kill the beats (all of them) and for a fraction of the price. congrats.

The more you use them, the better they sound. I burned my in for 100 hours now they sound awesome!

I was reading about whether or not 'burn in' is a fact or myth, there seems to be a bit of a debate whether or not it's real. Either way, looking forward to hear if they actually do improve, or if it's just me becoming very accustomed to the headphone's sound.

Actually what I believe is I have headphones that I would have NOT gotten without getting my first set of Beats. I think nowadays with days of hi fidelity stereo speciality shops gone, it's headphones like Beats, more expensive SkullCandy, Sony's & Sennheiser's are gateways to higher end headphone's if one chooses to.

Thanks. Looking forward to quite a bit of time with them, and already loving them.

I bought some Sennheiser HD558's last week and they're great. Test drive them before purchase and they sounded better than Denons and Beats twice their price, and they're the comfiest I've ever wore!
