I won't post a picture of my Bose QC2s, because everybody already knows exactly what they look like: P However, I should be getting some Beyerdynamic Dt990 headphones pretty soon. Anyone here ever run the 250Ω ones un-amped, directly out of a Macbook Air/iPod? I know I don't have enough power for head-crunching sound, but really, I don't mind....

I have a few sets of headphones but these are the two i use the most,My Sennheiser HD 428's & just the standard iPhone headphones

I try to refrain from listening to the better sounding headphones because I don't want to feel like they suck in comparison to these, and then spend more money on headphones.

Fully modded - Grado SR-125i's

Nice looking, I got the SR225 and like the sound a lot but I'm finding the cable a little "stiff" and the ear cups a little uncomfortable.
Where did you get your mod done, and do you find an improvement in any of those aspects?

I have to same headphones as I posted earlier. I made this cd player/ headphone stand myself. I'm not sure what finish I'll be using as of yet..

Finished product. And yes, I still have the Woo Audio headphone amp. I switch back and forth every one in a while.

iphone earphones
only when i have to be able to hear over my music

skullcandy fix ($69)
look them up, easily the most innovative earphones as far as how they go in your ear and how they stay. perfect for active stuff

skullcandy heavy medals ($89)
the most amazing earbuds i've ever heard. 13.5mm drivers, bass is insane, includes foam tips and full remote

monster dre beats pro ($399)
biggest but best splurge i've made. i had the beats studios before them, and these are a world of difference for $100 more. zero sound leak outside of them at full blast. bass is so loud, yet so clear. dual inputs let you listen to 2 songs at the same time automatically mixed into both ears (super fun to play with), and all metal so super durable

Monster is idiotic here (nothing new actually). Beats will pick up a new manufacturer and roll out some fresh designs and Monster will be left with a HUGE revenue gap.

Maybe they can now partner up with someone who knows a thing or two about making decent headphones and start putting out quality products.

google ohrenholz :)

The cups improve the sound greatly,

the cable mod is 100x better more flexible and alot less messy (no stupid Y) and the headband is one of the most comfortable ive used
