I know the wires aren't perfect, but I'm really not that fussy about them. This works fine for me so no need to change it :)

Hey man, cool cool setup! I think you made a mistake with the speaker placement though, it might not be a big deal to most - but having the speakers not vertically aligned worsens the sound.

monitorplacement-01.jpg

i know... i had them on my desk like that but they took up far to much room. it peed me off. im going to get some speaker stands its just where to place the left one as there is no room  so far ive not noticed much difference, they sound better in places as there rear firing & now further away from the wall no bass rumble :p

Sorry, it was inevitable... is that KB the Edge or the non-Edge one, why did you choose that one over the other one, and how do you like it?

Non edge, reason for choosing this one is, i don't need trackpad. or volume controls as i'm using a digital output osx can't change the volume anyway, so no point in having it. :) i love it i've had it so far 2 months and batteries seem to be going fine (keyboard is on a good 12 hours a day) no ergonomic problems easy to use nice extra buttons

this is my current desk

waiting for arrandale MBAir

for now
MacBook 3,1 (late 2007)
Magic Mouse
Apple Remote
Beats Solo by DrDre

Both plant and lamp are IKEA

my iPhone 3G is not pictured, it's on the universal dock playing some music

Screw it, I don't want to get in an argument over an over zealous Apple fanboy defending their 24" LCD lol. I know, it's a good deal, and I'll probablyt end up with a glossy MBP soon, but. dang man! Color accuracy? ROFL.

Normal people don't care about photo accuracy in "videos" you know. xD

Thank you for your input. It's a tough decision for me, since I don't need a numpad really, I don't need the trackpad either, I do like volume controls, I don't like rechargeable batteries (30 sec to replace batteries vs. 3 hours plus a place to put the recharging dock), and I would prefer a BlueTooth connection since that's what my MX Revolution uses, and I would hate to have to waste another USB port with another receiver (especially considering I only have two USBs). I'll probably end up with a non-Edge and a USB hub

thats weird, my MX Revolution requires a Dongle, though its a PC version

i'm lucky though my 30" monitor has a USB Hub built in. i got both dongles in there plus a USB SD Card reader. the other 2 USB's on my mac pro are for my Spyder 3 pro & HDD

i would say my Keyboard has lasted a good 200 hours so far. my mouse on the other hand i need to replace its 2 years old now, and only lastes a few days :(

hey guys thanks for all the comments, iam gonna try to answer all the questions.

Speakers: Those are the Lacie Firewire Speakers:
but i have the Usb Version. Because i dont want to waste my firewire port on my macbook pro. I hook it up to my usb hub.
The soundquality is decent but good enough for desktop use. I think the quality is quite good i use it for watch some videos.
But if u are a soundgeek u will not be satisfied.

Display:
This is not the 2009 either the 2159 version
Its the 2309m
its a Tn panel but the Display is really good
Pictures are crispy and sharp and its Antiglare
Soundquality is ok for a Display

i hope i answered all questions
btw sorry for my bad school english

Yeah, it requires a dongle, but it's a BlueTooth dongle, not an IR dongle. I'm hoping that I could use the mouse and Edge (which has a BT connection) off one dongle. Or just as good, use the Edge with the built-in BT. I would be using the mouse with the built-in BT, but it doesn't want to work with it.

I have two USBs on my current KB, the iHome iConnect iCrap. I hate this thing, the keys are way too tiny and the built-in iPod dock is really just a gimmick. And the numpad keys barely work. Which is why I'll be returning it and getting myself a *good* keyboard. In a way, I wish the DiNovo weren't wireless, so it would maybe have some USBs built in. I've never quite understood the purpose of wireless keyboards anyways, especially when you need to plug in a dongle to use it.

Yeah, the main reason I hate rechargeable peripherals. That, plus recharging times, of course.

Basically I hired 10 people, bought them a ton of screens :), and now I am doing fewer jobs than I was before, so I don't need as much space. It wasn't too wide and it was perfect for what I was doing then, but it's not necessary for what I am doing now. 2 of the 20s I plan to ship out to my other home office, the others I plan to donate.

read this on page ...15?(edit: 20, my bad)

care to donate one to...say...me(that is if you still have them :p)
any way nice:D
now i must post my setup :/

Why don't you just get into the routine of charging it at night. I'll use mine all day then take the 2 seconds to turn off my mouse and place it on the charger. Then its good to go in the am.

Another standard diNovo user here, but after having the Edge (which didn't work in the charger stand). The Edge and standard version are very similar in size. I've never used a numpad (I had the first generation DiNovo kit with seperate numpad) on my computer, so didn't really think I'd need it, but now it is there it is something I use quite regularly.

Batteries in the standard diNovo last for a LONG time. Only downside for me is the same as yours - I'd rather be using a bluetooth model. In fact I really wish that manufacturers of wireless KB/Mice would pull their finger out of their arses and make more models with BT, either that or a universal dongle across all their range. Logitech is slowly starting to do this, but only on select models.

I have both the Edge (Mac edition, of course) and the MX Revolution. Had the mouse for a year and a half now, and it's awesome. Reception is great, buttons are awesome, and battery life is amazing, even though I use it for ~10hrs a day and leave it on while charging. Honestly, if you just put it into the dock when you're not at your computer, you'll never have a problem.
Also, I got it on Amazon for a steal of $49--maybe that is impacting my review, but even if I paid full price, I think I'd still be happy. One thing that does bother me, however, is that I have to leave the dongle plugged in; for the price, it should've been Bluetooth rather than RF.

The Edge is an awesome, awesome, awesome keyboard. No other way to describe it, really. I was hesitant to get it due to a lot of negative reviews and its price tag, but I again found it on Amazon for a huge discount, and decided to make the switch from Apple's wireless Bluetooth keyboard. The typing experience is great--something in between the Apple keyboards and a more traditional Dell-like keyboard--and the Apple-specific keys are a fantastic addition. The trackpad is great for just using as a mouse, but it sucks pretty hard at scrolling around a page. Also, the volume slider works fantastically well (far better than the reviews had indicated), and the lights at power-up are pretty awesome ;). I will say that it seems really strange that the iTunes controls on the left go Pause/Play, Previous, and then Next. I find myself often pushing Previous instead of Next; seems like they should have switched the two.

So, in short, just put the two in their docks when you're away from your desk, and you'll be absolutely fine. I could not be happier with my purchases.

Very patriotic setup, there... for the US, anyway ;)

Actually, though, I like the color of the desk; it's a nice contrast to all the off-white in the rest of the room.

The table should really be painted in green ;)

Classic Past Setup

Well this is from the past... (obviously) probably more back then originally needed but... ;)

A Macintosh Color Classic upgraded with an LC 575 board. Apple Adjustable Keyboard, External CD-ROM, Zip 100 connected via SCSI. Netwon Message pad on the left and a QuickTake 200 on top of the Zip drive. All peripherals worked with the system, at the time of the photo I was playing a Beatles CD through the disc drive using "Apple CD Audio Player". Speakers are Apple Design Speakers II, also have a black pair somewhere. :)

Still works pretty well, of course it can be sluggish, but that's what happens when a computer is 17 years old. However it can still browse the web via it's ethernet card. :p Oh and yeah, that's a Pac-Man phone. ;)

I'll post a modern setup when I get around to cleaning my desk. (read: never) :p

Great old setup there, I love them Color Classics.

Thanks! I'm thinking of upgrading it more one day. I do have a second Color Classic, but it isn't upgraded. I have all the parts (6400 MB and a G3 Upgrade chip), but that's a project for another day. :)

Love the setup Limei

You are the ultimate geek to me and I always love to see what you are up to!
I haven't seen you around as much lately... maybe that is just me
Anyways... awesome setup!
