Not really a setup, but it's a Mac nonetheless, setup downstairs in my hi-fi cabinet.

Newest addition as of just under a week ago:

ObAQwl.jpg

Mac mini as my NAS/media server. An expensive route to go, but at least it guarantees full compatibility with my Macs (something that Windows Home Server simply couldn't do) and paid a good price for it. Not the best time to purchase, but considering its usage, I'd have to pay a tad more for Ivy Bridge when it comes out (I'm guessing around £50-60) and wouldn't get any more usable performance. Even if USB 3.0 comes about, I'll still be limited by Wi-Fi speeds when it comes to transfers to the external drives, and it doesn't see many sequential transfers anyway. Will probably function as an HTPC soon.

The laptop drive on the top on its side there is from my MBP, and is connected to the mini for Time Machine backups of my two Macs, and the drive next to it is going to be for my FLAC rips (as it was before). It's tidier than it looks in there!

It WAS tidy...Now it's gone feral...:D For those who though it wasn't "lived in" I guess it is now..And yep, I know I haven't done the cables yet...I have the kit, just haven't found the time!

Nice controller! Logitech F710, right? I have the same one. Love the nano receiver, way better than the real Xbox 360 wireless controller.

Yup, love it :) I actually bought it because my xbox 360 wireless controller somehow not working properly on FIFA 12.. :p

Weird question, I know, but where can one get one like that? I've seen them before and wanted one myself. :)

I bought it in store called SOGO.. not sure SOGO exist in non-asian country (I'm in Jakarta).. Although this kind of rug is pretty common, I'm sure you can find em at your local furniture store? Sorry can't be more helpful

It is just lying on its side :) The "clip" that you're speaking of is the pull-tab that they put on it to make removable from the MBP easier. The back is the end panel (that has the SATA connections on it), from a dirt cheap enclosure from eBay (cost me £2.50 or so).

Having exposed drives isn't the best thing in the world, and isn't really safe (I've already tipped that drive over three times!), but that particular drive is only for Time Machine backups in an absolute worst case scenario, so I don't really need it. The other drive (1.5TB) will be fine and won't tip too easily. Cooling was the biggest concern, and they run far cooler like this than they do in a fanless enclosure.

:eek:Why not break the bank so I can sleep nights without nightmares of head crashes....:D
