Santa sort of brought a flash for my camera and I'm playing around with it. :)

Congrats on the buy - may I suggest pointing it up and slightly backwards so you don't see the direct light within your shot, only the light bouncing off the ceiling. Gives everything a nice glow.

Nice, where did you get the display from?

It's the 20 inch model, got it off eBay. I paid only 30 Euros for it (which are about 40 bucks) as the seller was auctioning it as not-working. Turned out it just needed the external power brick instead, so I ordered one for cheap and got a functioning Cinema Display for less then 80 bucks.

They sell for about 150/200 dollars complete with the power brick if you're interested though ;)

It's a 27" ASUS IPS display. Only 1080 but it does dual duty between the laptop in front of it and an ATV2 since it has multiple HDMI inputs.

Honestly, barring the 1080 I've never had a non-Apple monitor that looks as good.

Been toying with the idea of getting that ASUS 27" or the 23" with the same design. Is the pixel density on the 27" an eye-sore at 1080 compared to any Retina devices you may own or even your 2560x1440 iMac/TB Displays? I know there's a tradeoff for the cost, but would hate to order one and not be wowed.

I've been building a desk in my spare time since April and finally finished it today.

I love it, my desk is self made as well and I know what it feels to build one :D
Maybe you can a couple of led striped with warm color under the desk imo ;)
