I was looking into one of those Dell monitors but I don't like the glare. How do you find it? I can see you in the reflection on the display.

If you done like glass then don't do it. My picture frankly was spur of the moment and I don't notice my reflection when I use it daily.

Planning a better lit picture soon once the office is clean, but obviously ymmv.

The display itself isn't Apple quality but you can get two of them for probably $300 which goes a long way.

I've got a lot of apple products in my home. Enough so where my wife almost expects a delivery a few days after an announcement for a product I use day to day (with a sad look of disapproval, it's an illness), but I can't personally justify an Apple monitor. Maybe used I could.

----------

Yeah I'm not sure what display to get anyway but leaning towards an apple one, I like that you can lock the front I didn't realise that, thanks mate.

The hirise is really cool. If you can justify an Apple display I'd recommend doing it. They make fantastic displays, but I can't justify the price. If I could I would.

The hirise works really well. If you have non-apple you can make it work with just what's in the box, get a premium feel and look with less cost.

For me, I can get this display for much less, and apple's is just a bit high. I'd get the apple display even at $500 or $700 but considering I have 2 of these displays around the house for about $300 makes it hard to justify. The display to me seems to count more when I touch it.

That's me though. Let me know if you have any questions.

----------

Looks really, really cool! Mind sharing your wallpaper?

Umm I think I got it from behance wallpaper app on the App Store. I'll look to see if I can isolate it and upload it but a few of these wallpaper apps get really finicky about that.

So, I just posted the other day, but I made another change.

I traded my eMac (with a dead HDD) locally for a 20" ACD. I also retired the win7 machine I had. Im down to only my MBP and my G5 (which is hooked up to the ACD). I also rewired my desk to remove extra cables. I desperately need a TB dock though, so I don't have so many connections on my MBP.

I love the wall mounted imac. This is one of the most frustrating things about my 2012 imac. There is no way for me to wall mount it since I never ordered that configuration. I even contacted apple and tried to get them to do it with me paying and they still wouldn't. Its made me not want to buy an imac again. I shouldn't have to decide one of the other. Pretty much every display on the market has the option to be wall mounted or stand.

This is inspiring me to change my set up! Expect an update soon

Also, I don't know if you could find this product useful with your wall mount

Thanks for the nice comment! The blue lounge product is pretty nice but I quite honestly do not have a need for it. In addition, it interferes will the simplistic look that I try to accomplish.

Good luck with the setup!

Such a gorgeous simplistic setup, I love the wooden table!

Thanks :)!

That sucks indeed. I've been using wall mounted iMacs ever since 2010 (started out with the i7 2010 model). The current iMac is an 3.4 i7 mid-2011 version with 16GB RAM, 2TB HD and an Samsung 840 EVO in the optical bay. It's lightning fast and I have no need to upgrade it anytime soon.

I tend to keep it for a long long time since it really is just fine.

It's three Lack tables the top of one forms the base and the second forms the middle with uncut legs descending. I then cut another one to the size of the xserve and used two of the spare four legs I had to support the vinyl records. It was then a simple matter of adding casters to the bottom and adding brackets to keep it all together.

I will add another level for my cassette deck and perhaps one more for an intel xserve.
