Not to keep posting in this thread but I keep simplifying and tweaking. I am no longer an iPad owner, and I swapped the Belkin wireless charging pad for the Logitech stand (so much better), and moved things around a bit:

Would you mind sharing what brand/model that desk lamp is?

Tweaked my setup for university. Not the most glamorous of location, but we make do! Bias lighting provided by a Philips Hue Play on a Twelve South Backpack on the back of the display.

My college desk was a piece of ply wood across the back of two chairs.
Gas fire and a pile of coins for the meter, ex army shoulder bag for books/paper and pens (slide rule).
Mattress on floor and toilet three flights down.
Not forgetting 'foghorn' in the winter and ice inside the one window.
Living on leftovers (10p/bag) from local chippy and ketchup.
Three years - oh the joy of modern education.

Bright spot - Friday night down the pub for cheap beer and the possibility of sex - Some Hope!

My office setup is finally more along the lines of what I’ve wanted! Needs backlighting, but working on that.

2017 13” MacBook Pro w/TB
2 Dell U2515x 1440p monitors
Caldigit TS3 Dock
Raindrop Mstand
Logitech MX Master Mouse and Craft Leyboard,
And of course my beloved Fallout memorabilia, lol.

Now if only I can find a truly comfortable office chair (without breaking the bank).

I’ve loved looking through this thread over the years. Finally decided to post what I’ve begun with the inspiration. Just moved last month—still need to paint and get some stuff on the walls.

Pictured:
iMac 21.5 (mid 2011)
MacBook 12” (early 2015) base model
iPad Pro 10.5 256 GB WiFi + cellular
Desk: glass/metal dining table from Wayfair
Chair: Amazon special

Terrible photo with a messy desk, but this is what I have going on now:

2011 27" iMac
2011 Macbook Air
2010 Mac Pro (hiding under the desk and driving the 23" ACD)
iPhone 8
iPad Air
...various other clutter

I LOVE the design of these ACDs and to me, they look much better than the iMac. There's something so simple and classy about them with the white side panels. Love it.
Great photo of a real work place..... I do prefer see setups that are actually used, to the pristine showpieces many post on this thread.

Current setup:
  • 2017 5K iMac with a 4TB HDD mounted to the back of the stand.
  • Apple Magic Trackpad, Mouse, and Keyboard (if they'd just release a SG version of the keyboard without the number pad)
  • iPod touch 6th generation.

Judging by the height of the chair and the height of the table, don't you find your iMac a little bit low?

I struggle when center of the monitor is not eye level for me.

No. I tend to follow the recommendation from several sources that the top of the screen be at eye level so that your eyes look a couple inches down to the center of the screen.
