Interesting, why is there a digital display on the hub? As in what benefit does it ad? How’s the bandwidth per port? Thx
Well, if anything it is more an aesthetic purpose, however, thanks to it, I recently found out that a USB 3.2 flash drive I bought of amazon, is in reality just usb 3.0. It shows the connection type for all storage devices connected. Now, I have checked with other devices I have, and thing is accurate.
Display serves the purpose of configuration, really. I can configure the bandwith, at which temp does the fan kick in to cool it and see names and types of devices connected, like monitor type resolution and Hz it is putting out. Also hub temp and individual connector temperatures.

USB Hub itself is USB 3.2, I can't answer all your technical questions, as I am simply not that advanced, but here is a Link to the product: https://www.dockcase.com/products/dockcase-usb-c-smart-hb-8-1. All the USB ports are 3.2 on the front, including the USB-C and the back ones are 2.0 for peripherals. HDMI is 2.0 but it shows DP 1.4 for some reason :D And it puts out 4K 60Hz. there is also a Gigabit ethernet port as well.

I like also how it's designed, with HDMI, ethernet and peripherals on the back, for the M1 Macs with TB3 ports on the left.

I bought it in the early stages, via Kickstarter. I believe they have a FAQ section there on the product page as well.
Overall, I am happy with it! :)
I know it's pricey, considering what you can find, but it just looks cool and is fast! :)

Hope I helped.

Just had a thought.

After all these years, products, announcements, etc … how come only Steve Jobs has shown off his setup (3x I think) of all Apple executives.
The only two Steve Jobs setups I've seen show him using an IBM ThinkPad laptop, and a NeXT Cube!

Right now only top executives seen with a Mac is during an event or launch. This concerns me as mistakes like the keyboard for 2016-2020 MBP 13” could NOT have happened so badly IF they actually used the products daily. I never had keyboard issues 3x I’ve owned 2017x2 or 2018 MBP 13” but with most staff how could this happen 4x before relenting?!

Like … it would be great to see desk setups for:
Craig Federighi,
Tim Cook,
Eddie Cue,
Bob Mansfield (fully retired I know, but still),
Phil Schiller a Fellow now,
and any retired Apple executive since like 1997, just their current setup.

could Mac Rumors reach out to Apple executives for their office/home setup(s) make an article and mini interviews of why they chose what they chose?

Tim's Infinite Loop office pics have been published before. I'd be curious to see the Apple Park office, and others tho for sure.

I’m really curious if you‘ve upgraded to a single MBP/MBA M1 based cpu and if the fan noise was significantly reduced to your liking/sensitivities where a single computing setup connected to a large external monitor is part of your setup?
I thought about it, yes. The 12" MacBook is long gone, replaced by a fanless M1 MacBook Air. I would have loved to return to a single-machine solution but won't be able to since my work requires the regular use of x86 VMs. I have to keep an Intel Mac around for the time being, and have since upgraded my 2017 iMac to a more powerful 2020 iMac to buy a few more years.

No images or video, but Craig does paint a pretty vivid picture of what his work-from-home desk is like in this interview and its absolutely hilarious how wildly improvised the whole thing sounds considering who he is.

This man created a multi-layered, 6-7 device, sit/stand desk setup with a card table, a footstool and stacks of books LOL 😆

Keyboard is a bluetooth mechanical Keychron K2 with Gateron brown switches and Keychron's retro PBT Apple keycaps (MUCH better than the cheap and horrible ABS factory keycaps), with Keychron's own wooden palm rest (the keyboard is TALL). The mouse is a Logitech G604, connected to the MBA via a USB receiver.

This keyboard and mouse setup is a life-changer, as I also use a gaming PC (under the desk), and both the keyboard and mouse can switch between the Mac and PC at the touch of a button (the mouse switching between the USB receiver on the Mac, and BT on the PC).

Where did you get the retro key caps in ISO standard? I thought you’d just put the keys that fit at first but I see the enter key is a proper retro ISO enter key. Can’t see any actual reference on the Keychron site at all. I’d love to buy this…

Answered my own question immediately. it’s under the Dye Sub models. Sold out ?

Oh dang! I'm sure it'll come back in stock. I also picked up the blue set, which is listed on that page, and it looks very cool too. As it is the same PBT type of keycap as the retro Mac version, it will feel and sound amazing on a Keychron keyboard, and is light years away in quality from the standard factory-supplied keycaps.

Here's my M1 Max MacBook Pro 16" hooked up to my 20" Cinema Display. The Cinema Display still is a beauty nearly 16 years later and works like a charm. I also pulled every default wallpaper off of my 2006 MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard and have the entire collection saved to my new machine!
Hi Man! Looks great and timeless.

If you're interested, I found a user on reddit who did a collection of every wallpaper on iOS and Mac OS 7, 9, OS X 10.1 to OS 12 and several wallpapers of keynotes.
