wow. . .that is one haggard piece of equipment. . . can't say much since i did something similar for my graphite imac g3 keyboard since i didn't have enough room on my old desk.
Not the greatest pic, I think I had a filter, polarizing maybe, on my lens at the time. Anywho, there's the command center.

Whats that thing to the left of the cable box?Well, I just spent the entire afternoon unpacking my stuff from college and arranging it back home. I have way too small of a desk, and I have to cram everything in that itty-bitty corner. And yes, I know, I have a mess of wires
Macbook 2Ghz Core Duo/ 2GB/ 160GB HDD
19" Gateway LCD
Logitech Wave keyboard, Logitech G9 Laser Mouse
Bamboo Fun Tablet
500GB External HDD
HP C3180 Printer
8GB iPhone
Shure SE310s
Sennheiser 202s
Sony DSC-N2 10.1MP Camera
And then my other junk (I don't have the PS3 or X360 hooked up):
Whats that thing to the left of the cable box?
What do you guys do to use your MBP with an external display when its closed??? Does it not fall asleep when you close the lit?
THX for the quick respond. Im assuming you still have to open it when you wanna restart it or boot it up when its been shut off? is it okay to use it that way for a longer period of time?...i know wrong thread...thanks anywayGoogle "clamshell mode" but its all over the place. Close the Macbook Pro, plug in the monitor, the external monitor becomes its primary (and only) monitor when you wake it with the keyboard/mouse.
yes, heat will cause your display to yellow very quickly as it drastically speeds up natural discoloration.THX for the quick respond. Once you get it to the external, you should open the computer to let air get under the keyboard.
God, I hope that was sarcastic

No. Mac laptops that officially support clamshell mode aren't damaged in any way when running it with lid closed.
