Going from left to right...

This is where I watch TV. I was in the middle of rearranging, so it's messy. The components are usually flush and the cables are well hidden.

Not the greatest pic, I think I had a filter, polarizing maybe, on my lens at the time. Anywho, there's the command center.

From left to right: 15" MacBook Pro 2.16ghz C2D, 2GB memory, 120GB hard drive, running OS X 10.4.11 Tiger. Next, 20" iMac 2.66ghz C2D, 2GB memory, 500GB hard drive, running OS X 10.5.2 Leopard. Finally, 8GB iPhone.

Holy WIRES, Batman!

Well, I just spent the entire afternoon unpacking my stuff from college and arranging it back home. I have way too small of a desk, and I have to cram everything in that itty-bitty corner. And yes, I know, I have a mess of wires :p

Macbook 2Ghz Core Duo/ 2GB/ 160GB HDD
19" Gateway LCD
Logitech Wave keyboard, Logitech G9 Laser Mouse
Bamboo Fun Tablet
500GB External HDD
HP C3180 Printer
8GB iPhone
Shure SE310s
Sennheiser 202s
Sony DSC-N2 10.1MP Camera

And then my other junk (I don't have the PS3 or X360 hooked up):

May I ask where you got your desk from? I need something with space.

These have to be the two top most elegant setups I've seen lately. Plus the iMac looks so stunning in that second shot (imac2.jpg.) These iMac's are pure sex.

Whats that thing to the left of the cable box?

Closed MBP with ACD

What do you guys do to use your MBP with an external display when its closed??? Does it not fall asleep when you close the lit?

Google "clamshell mode" but its all over the place. Close the Macbook Pro, plug in the monitor, the external monitor becomes its primary (and only) monitor when you wake it with the keyboard/mouse.

THX for the quick respond. Im assuming you still have to open it when you wanna restart it or boot it up when its been shut off? is it okay to use it that way for a longer period of time?...i know wrong thread...thanks anyway :)

yes, heat will cause your display to yellow very quickly as it drastically speeds up natural discoloration.
Once you get it to the external, you should open the computer to let air get under the keyboard.

No. Mac laptops that officially support clamshell mode aren't damaged in any way when running it with lid closed.

Yeah, I've had my MBP in clamshell mode almost everyday for the last 5 months and used it probably about 5 hours each of those days in such a manner. No damage. The laptops are designed to be used like this.

M-M-M-MONSTER FAIL!

Seriously though, what?

Where on Earth did you get this?

Thanx bud.:)

i used to run my core duo MBP in clamshell with my Cinema Display but the temps were getting up to 60C even with Fan Control 2000RPM. now i have it open on a few books and the temps are now around 50C.

BUT as my MBP only has 128MB of VRAM animations get a bit choppy becuase its shared between the two screens. so i like to have the MBP's lid open AND the screen off but the annoying thing is after a wake from sleep the MBPs screen turns on and i have to close it, sleep, wake, then open every time. is there a way around this?
