Really, the 20GB was the best one--it was the highest capacity to retain the thinner shell. And honestly, 20GB is good enough for me, anyways I LOVE my 3G 20GB!

The 3G ipod was the least functional because you have to move your fingers so much more to access the controls. With all of the others, all the buttons are in one place.
As for it being ugly, obviously that's just my opinion. To me, it just looks like they realized at the last second that they forgot the buttons and stuck them on. It has none of the elegance of the models that put the buttons on the wheel.

Still the best laptop to come out of Apple IMO. Taken on the go, too bad I'm not around the Mac Pro.
