So you use it to scroll? Then you click with the mouse?

It clicks too. It's configurable so you can set it up to perform different functions within certain applications if you like; for example, scrubbing through a clip in FCP. I believe most people just use it as a volume knob.

I know it's late in the game, and this post has been going for a long time now, but I thought I'd join in and post my setup anyhow.

Enjoy.

Here's mine I took a few months ago, all the equipment is the same, although I'll be adding an Apple bluetooth keyboard soon :) Probably I'll just prop up my PB on some books, unless anyone can convince me I really need an iCurve or something ;) :D

I was going to comment on how I didn't see an iPod in your picture, but at first I didn't see it because you have the blue case on. I just didn't want you to be changing a pattern that the others had set.

Is that a bluetooth mouse? If so, how does it work? I like the general look of it. Also, I need to have a scroll wheel back!

It's not bluetooth, it's the rfMouse Jr. from Macally, but they have one exactly like it that's bluetooth. Acutally I don't even think they're selling the one I have anymore. You can find it here. I really like the mouse, I've recently been having responsiveness problems, but it's probably a lot better w/the bluetooth version (can anyone confirm that?)

I'm at home now (aka not at my apartment at college) so it isn't the best time for me to post about my setup, but I just got my new SD200 so I'm biting at the bits to show it off.

First is my 15 inch powerbook with my iPod mini. Not pictured are my creature II speakers that are hooked up to airport express.

Second is my old eMac that has become my sister's computer. This lovely machine always resides at home.

I forgot, here are a couple of my old mac setups

This is my DP 450 B&W Powermac. I loved that machine and almost cried when I sold it. (Dang college bills)

This is my old 12 inch powerbook, hooked up to a 15 inch Samsung LCD, with an iCurve and external keyboard. I later upgraded to the 15 inch for the more firepower and simplified setup (no need for an external screen etc.).

So basically you're saying don't bother posting a picture of your setup if you don't own an iPod?

...

:(

Here is my Month old imac G5 20" set up, i am delighted with it - definately worth the wait!
I have moved it since my original pics in the other thread and added 2.1 Creature speakers and got a new 4g 20gb ipod for xmas (although i had to pay half) - much prefer the new click wheel.
My next investment will be in another screen, i have tried the screen spanning hack and it is really kewl. It will probs be a cheapo 17"er
