Darius, I love the Matrix Reloaded posters... just wish I had the wall space available to hang something like that in my office. (I have negative wall space... so much art that quite a bit of it is stashed behind furniture in my bedroom.)

Here's my current setup. The black keyboard and Wacom tablet are used to drive the 15" PowerBook. The white keyboard and red mouse are for the PC, although I hardly ever use it. Both computers are hooked up to the same monitor and I just switch between the two if needed.

I love the desk ($129 from Staples in the U.S.), and plan on eventually ditching the PC, rearranging things a bit and putting an M-Audio 61 key keyboard on the main desk area where the PC keyboard now sits.

On the right is "Lester", my Les Paul Classic guitar which I love (although it doesn't get enough attention these days).
Atari, what kind of speakers do you have there? Very distinctive.

clayjohanson,

Thanks a lot dude :)

I got them from www.movieposter.com and I got them framed on wood with a matte finish so they look really nice. They're pretty big too: 27" x 40"

I got a spiderman 2 poster also framed on wood right above my bed. Forgot to take a shot of it =)

quick question

hey guys, i got a quick question semi-related to this topic

Would I be wrong for throwing away a PC and a CRT Monitor?

Im going to reseat everything in it on monday, or maybe tomorrow. Its not working right now and is taking up valuable potential Mac Mini space. Or should i just try and fix/sell it?

"I think there's a solidarity, a brotherhood amongst eMac users. They always look worse in photos, with flash and all, but they are nice machines in real life."

Really? I think the eMac looks good in pictures as well as person. I love using my eMac but sometimes I kinda wish I had gotten a iBook G4.

I feel exactly the same, but then think back to the cost. I think it's just the material they use on the emac isn't too photogenic, unless you have it in complimentary light.

my mom bought an iBook BECAUSE of her eMac. Don't give up on it. Its obviously a good machine and it will lead to others. My mom's a school teacher and loves them both beacuse "they work" she says.

People have been telling me to go wireless :). I've blown all my cash on gear but I have nowhere to put it all :(. My room used to be minimalistic you know . I need to go a big cleanup session - I need bigger desks too. I'm only 19 though and it's taken me a long time to work for the money I used to accumulate all this stuff. I'm currently building a surround sound set up; next is the matching centre speaker :).

I hope you don't leave it on your parents to pay your electric bill.

It amazes me... My friends think I am crazy and a big spender because I have a laptop AND an external display to connect it to. I just show them some of the setups you guys have on here and they don't make fun of me anymore. ;)

P.S., but curses to you guys as well..... when seeing some of your pictures, it always makes me want to get more stuff. BIGGER AND MORE EXPENSIVE STUFF!!!

Nice ... do you project your GameCube onto the wall above the bed? And do you have its sound hooked up to the speakers on either side of the bed?

Here it goes: Titanium PowerBook G4 1GHz/512MB/60GB/Airport/Combo, 23" Cinema Display, JBL Creatures, 4G iPod 20GB, Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse w/Dongle on Powerbook, iSight, LaCie DVD+/-RW Dual-Layer Drive and USB Card Reader (hidden by Display is a Maxtor 250GB drive). The phone is a Siemens euroset 2015. Oh, my cat is aptly named "Miez".

Your picture shows the one reason why I am jealous of the Titanium PowerBook..... all the cables come from the back and can be hid behind the computer. I hate having my 12" PB on the desk and having all the cables come out the side and pulling it to rotate at times. The titanium makes for a very clean and classy desktop.

If you run your 12" PB lid-closed, you can have all the cables go out the back by just facing the optical drive slot towards the front of the desk.

That is exactly what I do right now, my 12" is tucked away in a pull out drawer. But when I want to use both displays, it looks really bad to me.

iBook G4 Cost

You make a true statement about the cost of a G4 iBook but i almost got a iMac G5 but I didn't want a LCD screen and It would've been a waste of money for me to get a G5. However, I do love my eMac and do appreciate having a larger screen than the 12" iBook. I think the eMac looks better in person that in pictures, but it doesn't look that bad in pics.

I would never give up my eMac for anything else (maybe iMac G5 or PM G5). I mean it's nice having a laptop sometimes. I've actually been thinking of getting rid of my HP laptop and buying a used or refurb iBook G3 or G4. When I do go on trips I like using my laptop but I would like it to be Mac OS X based.

Hey man, i have a similar problem being 19 and having limited deskspace. here's what i did to resolve part of the issue. I own and "L" shaped desk and put my 27" TV in the corner of the "L". I have right now my powerbook to the left of the TV and my PC to the right, w/ the CRT up on a built in shelf. I don't have the printer or the projector, but my xbox is up on one of the shelves to the left of the TV. I just bought an iCurve to alleviate some of the problem, because i don't have all that much space to do my homework. Also, and this is pretty much a key role in my space solution, I added 3 milk crates to the left of the desk and a filing cabinet to the right where im going put the mac mini and a printer. In the Milk Crates i have my blank CDs and headphones and things like that. When the iCurve gets here next week i'll be posting pics to let you know what im talking about so be on the lookout and good luck.

Well, i think an iBook G5 would tempt me, cash willing.

Just a small request: when quoting a post please only quote the text and not the pics. It can become annoying when multiple photos are repeated over and over again! :)
