Me and a guy called Mike do a website for a U.K. dj called steve penk but its only on a site builder so this is like a second server.

w/o 2nd Display...

loaned both the display and extra B&W to a friend when his iBook died. I'll be getting them back when he gets a new computer though.

well I run a 15" LCD as a 2nd display, but I run a 20" as 2nd for work.

College?!?!?!?! man, if you're heading to college I'd save that LCD money for booze or 4AM runs to McD's. I only run 2 at home because their monitors my mom upgraded out of. I have a 17" CRT back at the parent's but is too big for dorm life (living off campus next semester)

That is a nice comp 7on. I would even say that it looks better without the B&W...

to post a picture - if you want to attach it to the forums here then you've got to be under the file size limit. if you just want to have whatever size picture you want you can use a free image host like imageshack.us or pixelpolice.com. then you just stick the image URL between a couple of tags and you're all good. :)

just make sure you Preview Post before you Submit Reply - you don't want a messed up post for everyone to look at. :p

Well...

pc.jpg

I am gonna buy my new Mini next week.

The PC is a P4 3.2 with 1GB of RAM with a Radeon 9800 PRO All-In-Wonder.

I got 2 sets of MX700 Duo; one for my new Mac and one for the PC. All wireless :)

I got a Windows server which is the home's antivirus and file servers, one XP desktop that is owned by my sister and another one in my father's workspace.

That's it :)

Ok

but I thought that: Mac Forums> Mac community>Picture gallery>Post your Mac setup: Past and present

Well, I've had 3 mac computers, 4 apples in total. never had anything else. Im a lifetime apple user.

1. Apple II - first computer Xmas present at age 7 or 8
2. Mac Classic stock model
3. Mac LC475 32MB ram 80MB HD. First got on the net with this 1997
4. PM Beige G3/266 - This one I still but its upgraded
Currently
- Sonnet G4/1Ghz
- 384MB Ram - really need to up that. used to have 400MB (till 16MB chip died)
- Seagate Barracudas - 80GB and 120GB (still use stock drive rarely)
- Sony CRX300E Combo Drive (considering getting DVD burner)
- ATI Radeon 9200 ME
- Firewire/USB Card - 2 ports each (Keyboard and mouse
- PCI slot fan (removes some heat, however cant run graphic intensive
stuff in hot weather ambient temp need to be below 20 degrees celsius
- Apple Studio 17in CRT (prior monitors were Multiscan 15AV and 14in
RGB. That 14in was still in use Dec 2003 (around 11yrs old)
- Running OS 10.3.8

No pics at the moment.

This current system is adequate. I get fairly good frame rate on games.Other apps run fine. I do notice the limits from low ram and bus speed. I can double the ram. That might improve things.

For the future...
Ideally I would want either of the two top G5's with at least 2-3GB ram
But thats a lot of money for me.

So, my current computer is coming up to its 7th year of use. Not bad. 4 computers over 17 years means I dont replace often...
Next tasks will be to add ram and maybe DVD.
Hoping Tiger will be able to work on my computer (XPostfacto of course) We will see.

you have a place for your PC tower under the left hand side of your desk... why don't you use it?

besides, everyone knows that Powermacs are the only things allowed on the desk's surface...

Ah! I thought my tower was beautiful :)

I'm planning on buying another CRT (The same one) to put on my Mac.

Ugly..CRT on a Mac...:(

2 problems...

1.) you were thinking
2.) you have 2 exact keyboards and 2 exact mice... why don't you by a KVM switch. But if you insist on having 2 keyboards and 2 mice then at least get 2 LCD displays. Crap you can get 17"ers for 210 shipped from justdeals.com. That's where i got the one hooked up to my powerbook and i LOVE it.

I have a Logitech MX700 Duo I use for my PC. I tried to hook it up o my Mac Mini but the Mini has no PS/2 port. Does your MX700 Duo have a PS/2 Port. Yea. I thought it was strange! Why would anyone still make any device with an obsolete PS/2 Port.

On PC PS/2 is not obsolete. it's how you interface with the computer before the USB drivers load. Like using the PS/2 keyboard to access the BIOS, for example.

Which is why I have yet to find a keyboard, wireless or not, that runs on USB...

Which is precisely why I put "I" in bold. I myself have never come across a USB keyboard. Anyway, that is one of the nice non-Mac setups there quik...:)
