That's a house fire waiting to happen.. Maybe some tie-raps would help.

yeh, maybe they would... but then again... that would constitute re-wiring this whole desk... and that equates to not fun...

when i move out of this hous and into the next (a year or so) i will definitely get it neater...

so where is the rats nest?

Did you mean real rats? or was that a way of saying really tangled wires?

If u meant the second one, then I feel like a real fricken idiot. lol :D

a rats nest? OMG, I think I just threw up inside. If I were you, Id buy a grenade on the black market, and throw it behind the tv before id ever sleep in that room again.
Dude, "rat's nest" is slang for a mess of wires... it LOOKS like the nest of a rat, but there are no actual rats living in it. :)

EDIT: And whoops, now I see that this has already been pointed out. While we're on the subject, do you know what a "cowlick" is? :p

It's essay writing time here in Wolverhampton. Which means it's time to make a mess, hook the CRT up to the iBook, do some work, and end up posting a horrendous setup pic to Macrumors. Class.

Speakers, scanner, printer and books all out of shot.

Do I get a prize for the Messiest Setup On Macrumors Ever? :)

Well I have see worse but not here so award comming :p

ahaha i know, how does he get anything done with that mess like that.

All the quotes I need from books are written into a Pages document on the CRT screen, and other newspaper articles I'm using are also on the CRT as pdfs. All I need to concentrate on is typing into the Pages doc on my iBook's screen, and I'm used to that. :)

Those things on top of the speakers are little tea light candle holders from walmart, and tea lights from ikea (100 for about four bucks, i think)

The StudioPhiles are alright, in my opinion. They're the older models, and are the smaller ones at that. If I had my druthers, I'd get the newest line of AudioPhile speakers. But, for what I do (small recording projects at home with friends), it works really well, as does the Quattro. I love that thing.

I'd hunt around eBay for some newer M-Audio speakers, if you're looking for something to use as studio monitors. I think I spent about 250 on the pair, and they're in fantastic shape.

Hope this helps.

Alright these photo's were taken in like December, I just haven't posted them up here. This will be my setup again when I get home I am sure. I am not going to post my current setup because it sucks...a lot. It is hardly a setup, just a giant crunch of space.

Pictured of course, is my lovely Dell (Darkstar-Shrike) and his brother iBook (Shrike) and their other brother a Linux Server (Tux)

They all play very nicely together.

Thanks for the advice . . . my needs aren't as high end as yours so I'll probably get something like an Edirol MA-10D and be happy. Of course if I had the spare cash I'd go for the M-Audio BX5 or BX8. I made a mistake by getting the Klipsch GMX D-5.1 set, which I have grown to hate.

Here is mine:

This is my desktop setup. Currently studying in Brisbane, the one on the right is my Powerbook G4 TI 667 DVI. And the left one is my crappy PC from ebay.com.au.

That iBook is like a diamond in the rough...

Actually, I love my Dell! I worked on it a bit and built it up so it runs really really well. I just wanted a Dell in the begining because I knew there wouldn't be a problem with processor/mobo compatibility (I know, why not get a Mac Mike?) Because this plays my sweet ass games.

I do use the Mac more though.
