Fredstar said:MacNoobie that set up is beautiful. Really is, god i love those aluminium displays.
One thing i highly highly recommend is get rid of those black speakers and get some gorgeous aluminium Altec Lansing's FX6021's, they would match that set up beautifully.
Very jealous
MacNoobie said:Yeah these Klipsch 2.1's serve me well so far, I'm not much of an audio buff though I'd like an awesome pair of 5.1 speakers but I dont have anything behind me to hold them up, I'll look into those Altec Lansings.
I got the evil eye by every customer going into the Apple store that day when they brought up the display and the G5 boxes and looking at me (wore a crappy looking puke green shirt, a paint stained jacket and decent pair of pants) and wrote the check out for the whole thing, hell even the employees were like what are you wanting again. Anyways I worked my ass off for 6 months before I could get this setup and I want to make it last a good solid like 2-3 years if not longer that and I wanted a good solid Apple experience and not buying a mini for example and think the Mac's are slow or what not (I do a lot of Photoshop, Illustrator, web design, video editing, dvd creation).

i love the pic of your set up, what kind of cam did you use to get such a sharp crisp pic?
Awesome set up, me jealous! But I guess I would not have any use for a PowerMac G5 (yet) so I can not justify spending the money (yet).
Awesome!

Here's my view of Lake Michigan and the top of the Sears Tower, and my present computing situation. I haven't brought my 23" yet so I'm using the 17" by itself for now.
That's an antenna next to the surge suppressor. It replaces the stubby Airport antenna that comes with Power Mac G5s and it's necessary for picking up open wireless access points.![]()
It's a Hawking Technology Hi-Gain 6dBi Omni-Directional Wireless Antenna. It plugs into the antenna port of Airport Extreme base stations (the ones with antenna ports anyway) as well as Power Mac G5s. It wouldn't do you any good on any other Apple product.Prom1 said:Say Rod, what is the brand & name of that antenna you have posted in your new high-rise?? Looking for something like that for my 1st Mac purchase. not sure if I should be cheap for Mac Mini, iMac G5 or just be prudent with a G4 PowerMac (I'm still fond of the QuickSilver's).

Yup, pretty much. I'm in Douglas. There are two neighborhoods between here and Hyde Park (Oakland and Kenwood), and one neighborhood (Near South Side) between here and the Loop.joshua_msu said:Hyde parkish?
