Yay! I've finally joined the XDR club. It seems I was lucky and have an almost perfect item.

(Almost because there is a single dot on the screen that looks like contamination in the front glass, but only visible when looking from below the screen upwards so not a problem in daily use).
Can you tell me what stand do you have? It looks cool. Is it strong?

Just got the display and stand shipped I guess straight from China? Anyways, it is by far the best monitor I have ever used.

Having been used to 60+ hz monitors it is jarring for a bit until you get used to it, at that point the colors, sharpness, and screen real estate just take over.

Stand is awesome, not worth $1K, but I just looked at it as the monitor + stand. I got the nano coding since the room it's in has lots of ambient light, it's definitely performs a lot better than my other monitors.

Overall, it's a win.

How do you guys attach two macs to one XDR? It seems to have only one input port. Thanks.
You will need a KVM. Since there are no TB3 or USB4 KVMs yet you need to have a cable that separates the signal from the XDR into DisplayPort and USB. This can be fed then into a KVM and back to your Macs. To split signals, you need either the Belkin Huwai VR cable or a Wacom adapter. @wago had success using a StarTech KVM (DP 1.2 + USB 3). I've tried two different KVMs brands that would not work but have the StarTech on order to try it out.

Anyone else have problems using their XDR display with an audio interface? I keep getting audio static feedback noise on the audio inputs when the XDR is plugged in. As soon as I unplug the XDR display the noise goes away.
Does anybody knows if this issue is fixed? If yes, what was the cure?

There are no USB4 or TB3 KVMs. It would need to be able to switch 20 Gbps signals.

There did exist Thunderbolt 2 KVMs but I don't know if any are available. They won't work for 6K from BlackMagic eGPU or other GPUs that don't support DSC. the Sonnet eGPU Breakaway Puck RX 5500XT/5700 support DSC so they could work with a Thunderbolt 2 connection but in that case you might as well use a DisplayPort KVM (except Thunderbolt 2 KVM would allow USB 3.0 speed from the XDR USB ports).

I think it would be possible for Apple or someone to create a kind of Thunderbolt Target Display Mode that would allow you to switch a Thunderbolt connected display between multiple Macs that are connected together using Thunderbolt. Basically the host Mac (the one that controls the XDR) would allow a cross-domain tunnelled DisplayPort path from another Mac to the XDR (two DisplayPort paths in the case of Macs that don't support DSC which might be tricky since those paths would use up 39 Gbps - currently Apple doesn't allow such paths except when there is nothing between the Mac and the XDR).

I don't think Universal Control is going to be much better than screen sharing for using the XDR with other Macs. Therefore the only thing you can do for now is keep disconnecting and reconnecting the Thunderbolt cable.
I saw a Thunderbolt 4 KVM listed at https://dancharblog.wordpress.com/2021/02/05/usb4-tb4-docks/ but it doesn't seem available yet?

Any updates on the StarTech?

Any updates on the StarTech?
I returned the StarTech as it did not work for me to switch between two M1 Macbooks and the XDR reliably. The StarTech worked the best out of the KVMs tested but none really did the trick. The issue with the StarTech was delay with keyboard control. After switching the Mac often keyboard and / or mouse input would not work, both Magic Keyboard and Mouse are connected via USB to the KVM.

This video says replacing the cables helped his problem (in the comments). Your problem might be different?
Thanks for the “answer”. No I do not have this problem - I am still waiting for my Pro Display (delivery now delayed). Reading the “answers”, I think I will not have this problem as I use ONLY balanced audio cables in my studio. All my equipment including my MP7.1 is properly grounded too and all is “plugged” into one power regulator.

The reason of my question was my concern that eventually I could have some issues while using my Macbook Pro with the Pro display instead of my MP 7,1.

I am now more relaxed :) .

I hate to use the phrase “value proposition“ in relation to the Pro display, but if it included the same features the new Studio display does, but just larger and at 6k resolution, I’d be more tempted to pay $5k for it.

the Studio display is perfect for my needs, but I want a bigger screen.

any issues using 2?

I suspect Apple might drop a new display when they release a new Mac Pro. So if there's time, I'll wait out.
Yep, with all the rumors pointing out to adding a M chip and possibly a 7k resolution, waiting a few months seems a wise move. I am only hoping there is a price drop on the monitor and the options of the nano and stand like we see on the studio display.

Warning if you're a Caldigit TS4 user running 12.3: the ports on the back of the XDR will cease to work if the computer goes to sleep and you run the monitor through the TS4.

Hey Pro Display XDR owners! Does anyone here use their Pro Display XDR for professional photo editing (especially soft proofing for fine art prints)? If so, how does it perform for you?

I couldn’t find any helpful content on YouTube since most of them are video creators and I’m torn between an EIZO and the Pro Display XDR…Adobe RGB coverage seems pretty good with 96.7% coverage but I’m not sure if I could confidently print from this monitor…

That’s a great find. They appear to be an OEM manufacturer, so someone like OWC or Caldigit would buy from them and resell under their own brand. Maybe we can hope to see these later this year. Sorely needed with the Studio displays only having one input port.
I really hope one of those brands picks it up, minimum purchase order is 500 units.

I think the same way.. The studio display is the same display I have been looking at for the last 3 years with my iMac.
I hoped for a 32" with Mini Led but that seems like it's going to be implemented in the XDR v2 instead of the Studio Display.
I'd hate to spend €2000 for the studio display and still prefer to use my MBP 14". I'd rather spend 5k for the new XDR than 2k for the studio display..
Time to invest in a good monitor for once and for all..
