My friend has a S21 Ultra and his pictures are stunning. The 10x zoom works far better than the 3x on the 13 ProMax. I would have bought one but I can't stand Android.

The result of zoom is not clear anyway, I would not use in daily life.

For me photos look very oversharpened but also not really saturated. From my old s9, i am actually used to more saturation but my 13 pro takes photos less saturated than real life.
My switch from s9 to 13 pro feels camera-wise more like a downgrade.

is this a safe app?
Looks like it is for jailbreak…

Compared HDR and notHDR videos on TV.
HDR is darker and loses details in shadows.
Great it is possible to turn it off for video.

Batch processing in darkroom looks a good option now to reduce colors and make less shadows.

Can anyone say, what is better, HEIC or JPG? Tried to compare, looks the same. Reviews are controversial also…

Image quality should be about the same, or better with HEIC. The biggest difference is the file compression. JPG usually takes up around twice the space. JPG is however more compatible with different softwares.

the sunrise photos are awful with 13 pro max - my 7 plus was always perfect now the sky and sand are super hot red instead of pink or orange - these photos are with 13 pro max - and the sky was NOt red like that all of the beautiful detail is gone - please let me know if anyone has ideas how to fix this
:-(
Guys did you not see the girl in red clothes on the official apple page overburned and overprocessed?
they gave you a hint of what to expect and what they see as a great photo worthy of an ad…
Sad reality of Apple these days…. I took the hint, and did not even buy an apple phone.
Perhaps try and use a non-Apple camera app?

Correct, there’s little to no difference between the two. I use HEIC to save space.

My iP13 Pro and my wife's iP13 Pro Max way over-process pictures on the HEIC format, sometimes to extremes, however the attached picture would be difficult to beat; taken on a pier in Florida right before the sun went down. The areas where the sun hit my legs, shorts, and shoes "changed" color...

Looks like a pretty bad sunburn. May want to get that looked at.

For what concerning the zoom quality issue it should be due to the fact that, in "low" light, even if you select the telephoto lens, the Camera app won't use the telephoto lens (i.e. optical zoom) but the wide lens (i.e. digital zoom), resulting in a significant loss of quality (you can try yourself by covering the lenses with a finger).
The issue can be overcome by using third-party apps, although it is hardly acceptable for such a pricey phone.

You can find out what lens was used by swiping up. That’s not the case mostly

I have the iphone 13 pro max and also seeing the photo issue - first it's blurry then it takes about a second for the photo to become clear. I called Apple support, the rep reached out to their technician at the image or photo team for advise. First they said it was caused by my wifi speed and that the photo was taking time to upload to my icloud. I argued with apple support that it wasn't my wifi speed and they put me on with the senior technician who earlier suggested it was wifi speed issue. The technician ran some hardware test on my iphone and said everything (LiDAR, and other camera components) are working fine. I was asked to take the phone to a Apple Genius so they can "hold the phone and see the problem". I have appointment on Thursday so let's see what they say.
What did they end up telling you?

My photos also need approximately one second to become clear after shot.
Maybe that’s an issue?

Airplane mode or wifi. It looks exactly the same

So this raises a question. Does the non-pro (13 or 13 mini) take less-sharpened and processed images that than the 13 pro overall? Any comments from those who have used both would be greatly appreciated.
This doesn't exactly answer your question, but these videos show side-by-side comparisons of the two phones.

I thought, may be it might be the reason to return this phone to Apple)
It’s not the issue people are talking about here. It’s the picture after the AI processing that looks unnatural in colors compared to what we perceive with our eyes. What you’re talking about is the feature introduced in iOS 13 I suppose.

I went to a restaurant recently (first time in a long time) and took a picture of my plate. Was surprised when the iPhone 13 Pro Max said I needed to switch to the ultra wide - so whatever, I took the picture, then switched it to the wide and took another photo - keeping it as still as I could. The result? Two very different pictures. Check out the full sized pictures.

Now I’m no pro so I could have messed this up - but the phone WANTED to take the ultra wide angle pic. But even I (not a pro) could tell that it was pretty bad and switched to the wide.
