I'm not the most knowledgeable on GPUs but I seem to recollect seeing that unit regularly come up as a compatible one so I presume it has what is needed.

You can also check this sticky post: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/gpu-compatibility-list-for-cmp.2174600/

In any case, the installation doesn't change anything on your system. So if it doesn't work for you, you can always delete and return to wherever you were.

No, UEFI GOP standard is newer than the GTX 680 by almost two years. Some manufacturers sent firmware upgrades to people that asked for UEFI GOP support, eVGA did for all the people that asked on the eVGA forum. GPUs started to have GOP ready firmwares around GTX 780 time, with later Maxwell cards being fully UEFI.

eVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition and any flashed card that uses the same EFI firmware as a base don't have UEFI GOP support at all and have issues with Windows 10 UEFI installs, like black screen during boot time.

It has been flashed and patched for catalina. No on mybootMgr.
OK, you can refer to it as "4,1/5,1" or similar so people know it has been flashed.
The stuff posted in this guide is benign. Try it out and if it works, good. If not, delete and you can go back as you where.
Just put on a different disk from your primary OS or better still, a disk only containing data.

This way, if you feel anything is going wrong, shutdown, pull the disk and boot up to reset things.
You can then shutdown again, reconnect the disk, reboot and amend or delete the files.

Thanks for info.tsialex and Dayo !
I have an old Saphire 7950 For Mac- will that work with your reFind/OC Guide??
Also, if you know, would the 7950 work with Big Sur actual release?

The response I gave to your earlier question is equally applicable to given GPU or any other one::
1. Check the GPU compatibility thread
2. In any case, you can try the guide and roll back if not working.

I think it possibly could help these older macs with the usual nvidia problems in linux we shall see. Not surprised about who released this in September. He or she is a genius. Quite good stuff there.

Does the cMP refer to the MP 1,1/1,2? Does the method also enable later macos than El Capitan?

MP1,1/2,1 are Macs with EFI32, GPUs that work with MP3,1/MP4,1/MP5,1 won't work with them for pre-boot configuration support and vice-versa. A Mac with EFI32 firmware needs a GPU that supports EFI32.

El Capitan is the last macOS release that works with processors without SSE4. MP1,1 and MP2,1 can't be upgraded to Sierra since the Xeons supported by the logic board don't have SSE4 support and it's not possible to install Sierra compatible Xeons.

anyone know how to using bootcamp on Mac Pro 2012?
Have you tried a search? There must be a post on this somewhere in the forum.
Trying to keep this focused on specifics of implementing the guide on Page 1

I posted the question over to Catalina on Unsupported Macs no one replied maybe my question did not have enough details. Let me bring this up here again the volume "Catalina" boots to prohibitor sign but "Preboot" does boot to Catalina. I removed do not scan volumes "Preboot from the Chainloader Config. Just can't figure out why the Volume Catalina won't boot yet Preboot does boot into Catalina? The volume for Catalina on the SSD drive where I placed rEFInd EFI to that drive looks to be volume name Catalina but when I go to mount the EFI I see this string of volumes from Clover Configurator see below. Catalina Installer is a HFS+ partition off the SSD. Something is throwing this off maybe the HFS+ partition is?

Screen Shot 2020-08-02 at 12.22.51 AM.png

Edited:

It looks like the volume name is Catalina Installer am I correct in this? I don't know why it does not say EFI on Catalina? For the Samsung SSD drive EVO 860, Disk Utilities shows 1 APFS container Disk1 with two volumes, both Catalina and Catalina - Data and a 2nd partition Catalina Installer HFS+ partition. Clover Configurator Mount EFI details make it look like EFI is on Catalina Installer? I'll remove the installer partition see what happens.

Removing the partition did not resolve it.

Edited Again:

Is rEFInd working in Catalina 10.5.6?

Edited 8-2-2020 19:46:

Everything working now, I installed 10.15.6 reset P&R cleared and refreshed EFI re-blessed and now the Catalina Icon from rEFInd boot menu boots to Catalina finally!!!

Updated for OpenCore v0.6.0 and Refind v0.12.0.C

For some reason having problems with bootblesser app. Made sure I ResetStartDisk and reset P&R then made Catalina my startup disk boor each time. Maybe I have to boot like 3 times or something before I run the BootBlesser, I believe the documentation said to do so?

Also is Trim support enable with 3rd party drives because it set to "no'. What enables trim support in OC?

Thanks!

Where did you see anything of the sort in the documentation?

I thought I read that here must have it confused with another guide. Your EFI mounter and Bless tool is not working!
They work for me. Perhaps you've mixed something up.

Nope nothing different here. Its confused about the physical mount versus the virtual volume same issue with EFI mount tool. No issues mounting EFI with Clover Configurator Mount EFI. I'll have to try using the terminal command to bless the volume I guess.

Share screen shot of list of disks you get to select from

However, why aren't you using the *scrt file approach recommended in the guide?

Absolutely this is the first thing I did on 0.59 and 0.60. I removed all the drives except the Catalina SSD still get an error ill try override this time.

Guide doesn't say you should remove any disks. Just says open the file and enter the name of any volume on the disk that holds your EFI partition.

I understand but just to make sure its an easy step for me to troubleshoot the issue is to just slide out until disconnected from SATA just until I figure out why this is happening.

So override worked for both the EFI and Bless App. It boots to Refind boot menu but it get sot a console text menu not GUI based. Is this how the new version works? Do you need a screenshot?

Edited:

So I used a different Volume chose Catalina Installer as you can see from previous post its part of Disk0 and that worked its not working with Catalina as the Volume why?

Also the Refind menu is text not gui?

No. Unless set that way.
Go into BOOT/refind.conf and make sure the "textonly" option is commented out.
Also make sure you don't have it in BOOT/chainloader/config.conf

Actually I checked those to make sure.

Here is the hierarchy of my EFI:

Here is the message I see before the refind menu populates which I never seen before including the 0.59 version.
