Returned my M Alpine Orange Ultra for another Ultra. Was able to snag the Black/Grey M/L Trail Loop today as it was my last day for exchange! This was the original combo I wanted!

The the trail loop was worth the hassle! It will compliment my yellow Ocean Band that I also fell in love with!

I tried so hard to find a benefit over my Series 7 and just can’t. I’m getting the exact same data from it and besides the appearance difference, it’s the same…for my use case.

Anyone else return?
I visited the Bestbuy store twice and played with the Ultra and I just could nice find a good reason the purchase the Ultra. There just wasn't enough "new" features to entice me to get the watch so I am keeping my series 6

Upgraded from my S4 and love it. The battery life is amazing. The screen is great. The action button is useful. The trail band is comfortable.
What do you have your action button set to? I actually disabled it for now since I kept accidentally starting a workout with it.

“Ditto,” but with the Alpine Loop.

Never mind that Apple has already processed my S4 trade-in; you’d have to put a gun to my head to make me go back.

Just being able to leave the phone behind or stash it in the backpack rather than keep it in a pocket is worth it.

Maybe it’s not that big a step up from the S7; I could imagine that. But from the S4?

From the S4, it’s a giant freakin’ deal.

Coming from a S5, I think it was a good upgrade. For me as a runner training for a marathon, the battery life and extra button along with the new way to start a workout is great improvements.

The larger display is helpful for ageing eyes, a bigger difference than I expected. I also travel a lot, and not having to worry about the battery as much is a perk.

I’m very pleased with the Ultra!

I use it to start a workout. I might look at some shortcuts soon though.

I didn’t do the trade in so I’ve still got my S4. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it. Maybe my mom needs a hand me down Apple Watch. Lol

If I miss a charge, just come back the next day. Biggest benefit, ever.
Yes, I think it's hard to overstate how big a change that is. I don't worry a lot about battery charge levels and my lifestyle allows me to give the watch several smaller charges during the day. None of that is hard or anxiety-producing, but the Ultra is an entirely different game.

I returned the Ultra.
yesterday I went to purchase a couple bands.
Overheard an employee giving another customer the rundown of ultra inventory and bands.
after hearing they had the black trail band in stock, the employee took note at my reaction and asked if I wanted to return mine and reserve one with trail band.
Seems wasteful to Return one and grab another just for the band.
however, that’s Apple’s policy.

Which band did you return and how’s the trail loop by comparison?

It will be interesting to see how the Ultra does in terms of sales numbers. I expect many Apple Watch loyalists to act like me and get the Ultra because it is the only true “new Apple Watch” since at least the S6 (arguably S5) and not because they are an “extreme athlete”. The new form factor plus some added functionality give a real reason for an upgrade that was not there before (I am coming from a S6). Unless the Ultra indeed is “too large” for sombody’s wrist it is the watch to get. Price wise, the watch is actually a relative good value considering the sapphire glass, titanium casing and added functionality.

The only reason I traded my Series 7 was the 41mm screen. I wanted the 45mm, which I have now in series 8. I’m very happy with this size and the watch in general.
