Battery life is fantastic
No argument there. It’s just the charging that’s annoying me. It’s just another case of Apple amazing me and disappointing me at the same time. I’ll quit whining now. The extra charger I had to buy off Amazon should arrive before my battery dies, so my slow charging woes should be over. It doesn’t go down as a good experience with Apple though.

I don’t plan on returning my Ultra, but it very well may be the last Apple product I ever buy. I’m sick of their obnoxious, blatant cash grab, of not including the stupid charging brick. Sure, I’ve got dozens of the old USB-A bricks kicking around. However, when my shiny new $800 watch arrived, I had no way to charge it. I still love the watch, but can’t get the bad taste of Apple out of my mouth.
Most people I know (including my Android friends) have had USB C for many years now. I, myself, almost everything I own is USB C and it has been that way for years. Most laptops today have USB C ports.

While I share your frustration with lack of charging bricks, I am glad Apple is slowly moving to USB C. I don't plan to upgrade my phone till it is USB C then I just need 1 brick for my laptop, watch, phone, everything else. :D

Well…..the no brick has been publicized for a few years and the descriptions do not say it’s included. So why be angry at apple when it’s your fault you didn’t read what accessories came with the watch?
It is aggravating if you don’t have one, but I have accumulated 5 or so bricks over the years which just sit in my desk.
Sorta like when space saver spare tires started appearing………..WTF…….the cheap bastids.

Doesn’t really matter that it says on the box - it’s cheap as hell! And don’t give me the environment story, because if that were the case, all of us missing a USB C brick should be able to pick one up for free at the Apple Store.

It could be both... It's Apple taking advantage of an opportunity to cut costs and increase profits or "cheap as hell" as you put it.... But it can also help the environment... I mean I have a drawer full of cables and a bunch of bricks both USB-A and USB-C... I certainly don't need another one. And while not everyone is in that situation... I'm sure a lot of people are, given the amount of time ipads, androids, iphones, other tablets, and devices have been around.

And I agree - it's totally fine to use the environment argument, if they just lower the price dramatically for people without the power plugs. For a 800$ watch its pretty greedy to make you purchase a charger separately

I wasn’t mad because it came as a surprise. I was well aware it wasn’t included. I was mad because Apple went so cheap on a high end product. I can understand not including USB-A bricks, seeing as everyone has dozens of those already. However, the only one I had went along with my iPad when I sold it. Just wait, the next watch probably won’t come with a wristband since we probably already have those.

well I don't think they would lower the price dramatically... They are only saving $10 by not including the brick

So if anything they would lower the price by $10 which to be honest would not move the needle much.

I’m happy to say the new charging brick arrived, and I love how fast the Ultra recharges. I’m also happy that Apple missed out on the cash grab by making me buy one from them.

To be fair to Apple I think (happy to be corrected) that Garmin only provides the charging/data cable with their watches not the power brick/charger itself.

Actually I wish Apple Watches came without bands…….always a problem when the new model comes out and you have to settle for not so desirable band just because you can get it a month earlier……..like my Ultra……

So I'm not the only one who ends up donating bands to family that have AWs? lol. I also don't know why one can't just buy these band free..... I imagine someone would end up complaining I guess. lol

A) I agree. And I’ll say it, I didn’t know the watch didn’t come with a brick, and yes, I was disappointed to find that out. And yes, this is the first product I’ve owned that requires a USB C.

2) I was pretty disappointed in the band selection. I just bought my wife an AW 8 and had to take a Xanax trying to decide which band to get her (it was a present) there were so many options. Imagine my surprise when I got to the band selection for the AWU.

People's heads would absolutely explode if Apple decided to stop including bands.....Not sure what advantage you are looking to gain from that.. It's not like they would reduce the price to make up for the lack of band.

It would be totally unsurprising if Apple did stop including bands while maintaining the price though.

Like the charging cable ‘everybody can just use a band from their old watch to save the environment’….. I can see it now lol.

I think the battery life is amazing for a smartwatch. For me, my Apple Watch Ultra can last me about three full days on a single charge. There is a mix of light and heavy use BTW. Unlike normal watch batteries, I am not expecting a smartwatch to last months or years like normal watches.

Again, coming for an apple watch series 6 (aluminum model) this has been a pretty big upgrade.

I tried the Ultra for a 2nd time. This time, I bought one used but in Mint condition. While I thought the screen was a little easier to read on the Ultra, and the battery life improvement was welcomed of course, it was just a little heavier (and more top-heavy), than I'd like.

So, I sold off the Ultra and will stick with the S8 SB Hermes.

I have had the Ultra since launch. Love the device. However I just tried on my series 6 Titanium….and I have to say I love the size. I’m not getting rid of my ultra but will probably wear my 6 more. I really do like the “action” button & long battery life with the ultra for sure!

My brother has just been on a weekend break with a friend , their ultra still had 10% charge left after 3 1/2 days !!!!

His 6 ran out before the second day ....

I understand the purpose of the international orange but I hate the color orange…had it been the same color as the body of the watch or even black, I’d have gone for it. But until they do something other than that hideous orange, I’ll keep to the regular Apple Watches.

I think it’s a great watch, and I love the action button and the titanium body. However I was disappointed that the screen size seems to be only slightly (and I’m talking less than a mm) larger than my series 7. Hoping next year they’ll actually make the screen larger. At least it saved me $800
This is my first Apple Watch, and I didn’t know if I would keep the Apple Watch Ultra, but after a 2 weeks, no way am I returning it!
