Well I am sorry to say that I wouldn't count on it arriving before you move. There are quite a few of us that ordered on June 5th that still haven't received our MBPs. In fact some have actually had their estimated ship date delayed and we were already waiting 4 to 6 weeks. Maybe if you ordered before you moved and it hadn't shipped you could just change the shipping address without having to pay additional taxes. I am not sure how that works. I wouldn't really think changing your shipping address would change the cost once ordered, but I am just not sure. You could just tell them the reason for the change in shipping address was due to an extended vacation or visit. Good luck!

The tax rate may be higher in your new state, but you would only be charged sales tax on an online order if your new state has an Apple Store, I believe. Judging from the fact that you're going to a state whose rate can be twice that of another, I'm guessing you're moving to a state with several Apple stores...

Good luck -- I wish this forum thread didn't exist (i.e., there wasn't a ridiculous delay to speak of!).

Hurray! Mine's finally shipped. Not much detail in the Tracking section yet, just that it's "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule". The estimated delivery date is 19 July, 20 July or (as ever) 13 August, depending on whether I go by the confirmation e-mail, the Shipment Status or the Order Status.

10 days seems a bit long for it to get to the UK (I'm trying to ignore the 35 day estimate) but, all things considered, it'll do.

I almost hate to ask, but any developments for Koops, Osprey and the rest of the One Month Plus people?

Congratulations, I hope it is perfect because I feel like we all deserve that. Also to koops, them charging your cc has to be good news since Steve Jobs mad such a big deal about not being able to charge people for iphones before they were ready to ship (he said that would open all kinds of legal problems). I am sure yours will ship soon!

As for me, I am beginning to think Apple hates me. There is absolutely nothing going on with mine and to tell you the truth, I have seriously started to think that maybe I might just cancel my order. I guess I wouldn't be so upset if everything had been handled fair and square, but I just can't believe that has been the case here. I really have tried to be patient, but it is starting to be really frustrating. Well good luck to all and I am sincerely hoping you get yours soon and that it is everything you wanted!

Are these delays still beyond what Apple has on their website when you order? I ordered the 15'' MBP 2.4 with the 7200 drive on June 30th. My estimate delivery is around July 16-23.

Osprey, it's terrible that you still haven't had any movement on yours. It's clearly reached the stage where "someone ought to do something" as a customer relations issue. Have you tried e-mailing? (it's a really long thread but I can't remember whether you have.) I'm sure that Apple has an "Oh God, we've really screwed up on this one, get Shanghai on the line right now, and while we're at it, give this customer a discount!" Department.

(You weren't in a fender-bender recently with a pissed-off looking guy wearing a black polo-neck sweater, mouthing the words 'I know where you live', were you?)

Good luck, and let's hope you get some news soon.

Nope, no fender-bender, thank goodness for that at least. I was going to e-mail, but couldn't find an address. I have called only twice because I feel so guilty when I do (you know, like I shouldn't be annoying them). Don't get me wrong, they have been very pleasant, but absolutely of no help at all. They tell me it is due to the delay in the 7200 and when I say that others who ordered way after June 5th have gotten theirs they can give no definitive answer. If I don't see any activity by Friday the 13th (may prove to be a very ominous date), I will give them another call and decide then if I am going to cancel altogether or not.

I can't tell you how much it has helped having people to share this waiting with and if the delay was due to QC issues, then that will be a good thing. I just wish that Apple would give a reasonable answer for the delays instead of all the subterfuge. I know the people you talk to on the phone at Apple don't really know either, but somebody must. I'll keep you posted if I get any change and I'll let you know for sure what I find out on the 13th, if anything.

BTW Hans Anders, do you think are we the only two left that are still waiting?

You would be very lucky ophidean (or I’m very unlucky) if you get it around that date. My estimate delivery date is July 25th. But I ordered 24 days before you did.

Man thats crazy...I really hope you get it soon :(
Thankfully I don't need mine right away...now I'm just having fun ordering bags and stuff for it. The wait is tough though, I just wish they would put a more realistic time frame on their website...7-10 days is just not happening.

not FIFO

I have an email address with I use to communicate with some apple sales representative. Last time I asked for an explanation through email they called me immediately to apologize for the delay. They told me they did not know why and as soon as they start delivering I am one of the first to receive one, like they tell everyone.
I told them I knew people who ordered later and have received earlier. They found that strange, like I find it strange.

Today someone gave me his order number. He ordered the same computer and also lives in the Netherlands. He ordered after me and already received his system.

So today I emailed Apple again with proof that they don’t ship FIFO. I wonder what there reaction will be tomorrow.

I will keep you all posted!

Well I hope that this gets a better response than the previous ones. I am anxious to know what they reply.

I do have a matte screen, but still. that shouldn't take much more time...

I hope you all get your systems soon!

I know what you mean - I have been tempted to cancel mine, but at the same time I need it. Do I want to give apple money for something they do not seem bothered about? this is my first purchase with apple - I have never even bought an Ipod and so far obviously just with this experience i am not impressed...Hans - keep us posted on your email development and if you have an email adress that would be great!

My first purchase also, except I purchased an ipod when I ordered this MBP and it came over a month ago. It sounds so munch longer when I put it that way!! Anyway, if they don't ship yours really soon, then you do have a real, very concrete complaint. What I can't figure out is why they have put an authorization hold on my account two separate times (which BTW expired both times without them actually taking the money) and never did my ship dates change. I would think that you could really raise a fuss though since they actually charged the purchase on your cc. Did you call and ask them about that? This has just been one crazy experience. I worked a long time to save the money to purchase so I wouldn't have finance charges, I guess that I had more time than I realized. Have you checked your e-mail to see if you have one that says your computer has shipped? Even if it goes out today, it probably won't reach you before Friday. Did they change your shipping to 2 day or did you already have that? I am pulling for you.

Right, get this.

I go to look at my order status, I am AMAZED to see that is has shipped. So I click the tracking number link and it takes me to TNT's webpage. According to this particular job number, the item was picked up on May 23rd and delivered May 24th......
I'm just hoping it has still shipped, and there's not a bug in the system.

I tell you, things are starting to get real spooky. Maybe it has something to do with 07/07/07 and now Friday the 13th looms before us. This actually probably makes as much sense as Apple's way of determining whose order goes out next.haha:D

Is it possible that TNT uses the same tracking number more than once??
My Dad bought a Mac Pro, also on June 5, and I had a look at the TNT page for that and there are 2 separate boxes with different information?? Does anyone know anything about this?

still not shipped - I'm going to call them now! and i'm goign to ask them for an email address to write to as well, the thing is, it still allows me to cancel my order yet they have charged my credit card?also they told me it would take 10 days to deliver! so I have not got 2 day shipping - i think this is only available in the US

mine should arrive on friday the 13th... I don't believe in supernatural stuff, but still, don't like the date

man, can't wait to get this puppy in my hands...

In answer to my own post, it seems TNT does give the same tracking number for different people. My tracking has shown up, so far it's
Date Time Location Status
10 Jul 2007 21:09 Shanghai Shipped From Originating Depot

Does anyone know if the time is Shanghai time?

10 days seems like an awful long time to deliver just because you aren't in the US. As I said before these babies really must be on a slow boat from China. Nothing new at all on mine.

Ok so here’s what happened today after I send Apple an email yesterday with proof they don’t ship FIFO.

I got called today. They told me pretty much the same story again, difficulties with the 7200rpm, they do every thing they can, and so on.
And they told me normally some other department handles this. Seems I have been sending emails to the sales department.
So they gave me the number of the Apple Store Sales Support. Then I had to explain the whole FIFO thing again. They found it strange, and asked to call me back.

When they called me back and they had a clear story.
I ordered with the Apple Developer Store. This is a different “list” as the online store or the education store. This how some may get their MBP 7200rpm earlier.

So I guess I did everything I can now, and I will just have to wait.

Well sorry, but I am not buying that either. I ordered the first day from the online educational store and mine sure hasn't shipped out yet, nor is there any activity on it. Nice try Apple, but I need a better explanation than that if mine doesn't ship soon.

koops, any news on yours?

This is a little off topic I suppose, but I've been thinking (I know really dangerous) and was wondering if Apple might be shipping the 7200s out only when they get a predetermined number ready to go. In other words do they wait until they have "X" number of 7200s ready for shipment rather than shipping on an individual basis (like included with different configurations of MBPs)? It almost seems like from the very beginning the original ship dates were set at two week intervals. If this is the case, aren't we close to two weeks from when the first ones were shipped out? Of course, this is just speculation, but if valid, it could mean that we are due for another big shipment to go out. I don't mean to imply that they would ever send out just a few at a time, but maybe the 7200s are only shipped with other 7200s. I am probably grasping at straws, but that is what happens when one has waited this long.

My replacement macbook pro still hasn't shipped yet. Its expected to be shipped between the 11th and 16th July even though the sales lady said it should be a lot sooner. No such luck. I'm starting to get a little impatient now as my G4 can't seem to do anything right in my heightened anticipation. If I don't hear anything by the end of the week I'm going to the apple store and pick one up, anything is better than what I have now.
