I ordered Thursday morning through an ADC Student account (for the one-time discount):

Order Date: Jul 5, 2007 at 09:06 AM PDT
MBP 15/2.4 CTO
Z0EC

Custom configuration
160GB Serial ATA Drive@7200rpm
iWork '06

Ships by: Jul 16 - Jul 19
Delivers by: Jul 18 - Jul 24

We'll see what happens. I'm ordering from central USA, if it matters.

I don't even have a "Delivers by" on my Apple Order Status Page. I ordered Jun 11 and it says "Not Yet Shipped"..."Ships by: Jul 24" For what it's worth, I placed my order through my academic department and got the academic discount. This clearly did not put me higher on the priority list judging from how others who have ordered after me have already received their MBP.

Well??? Are you just going to leave us hanging after all this time? How do you like it, was it worth the wait? Congratulations and enjoy!:)

ok, ok, too busy enjoying portable life :)

Pretty much perfect computer. Except there is 1 dead pixel at the top left. I'm not sure if i have this yellow tint thing at the bottom - its not really obvious. I'm not that bothered by it. Its a samsung screen

Screen is really nice though - very bright and sharp. You need to look straight at it to not see reflections and gradients. I can what people say about it not tilting back far enough. I'm 6 foot so when I have it on my lap I notice the colour isn't perfect i have to hunch down a bit.

Computer is very quick and great build quality, gap between the screen and case isn't bad. I noticed that the plastic in the middle of the hinge wasn't clipped in properly so i gave it a little squeeze to click it in.

Start ups in a few seconds - really fast, makes my G5 embarrassed :)

Just busy adding my software and working out how i'm going to sync bookmarks and files

Glad you like it mate.:D

Also being over 6 ft the fact the screen doesn't go further back is a tad annoying.

I have to hunch or sit perfectly straight or I loose the screen brightness.

Still waiting for mine, but I am hoping for some good news either late next week or early the following week. I just don't want to get the email telling me that it has been delayed even longer. Give us a thought now and then while you are enjoying yours. I really am happy for you.

I ordered mine online June 13th for the matte 15" 2.4 7200 160GB model. It still says July 26 for ship date, which is a burn because the Apple store claims shipment of a similarly configured unit within 7-10 days.

This doesn't make alot of sense to me. I'm tempted to cancel and reorder to get an earlier place in line.

Apple Support is no help. Conflicting answers from them, so no reliance on their input.

Seems I'll have to wait, as I'm not willing to risk an even later ship date past July 26. I don't have faith in the current ship times online.

Yeah, I'm still waiting also. Ordered mine just a few hours after the release and the original ship date was July 5, but when that date came around it got delayed to...
Ships by: 16/07/2007 - 19/07/2007
Delivers by: 23/07/2007 - 26/07/2007
I'm interested to hear from other Australians!

Still waiting (15" M 2.4 7200 ordered 20 June, prepared for shipment since 27 June.) I've had the e-mail telling me that it's been "delayed" but, just to confuse matters, the new estimated shipping date in the email is 3 weeks earlier than the 01 August date (13 August delivery) that still shows in my order status.

I'll go with the e-mail estimate until or unless 11 July comes and goes and I'm still stuck at "Prepared for shipment", then I'll get antsy again.

Yep - still waiting, see signature - It looks like alot are being put back - are apple addressing a quality control issues I wonder?

I really think this is the case. But the various ship times that don't correlate with order times is bewildering. Apple should at least change the ship date online, as I don't believe it's the 7-10 day timeframe. Weird.

I'd rather wait than roll the dice with uncertain QC matters...

I would rather wait for QC issues to be addressed as well, but none of that makes a lot of sense to me when I think the scenario through rationally. Are there delays on all 15 inch machines. I mean it isn't like it is only the 7200 that is having the screen issues, it is all 15 inch that are susceptible to the problem. Wouldn't all orders be put on delay? I sooooo want it to be that they are making sure that all problems are eliminated, but I guess I have my doubts. I can't imagine waiting all this time and then having to return it and have to wait once again. With all that said, I guess only time will tell and we really should hope for the best.

What's people's estimates nowadays on a MBP with the 160gb 7200rpm? I'm moving in about 3 weeks to a state that has about 2x the sales tax, so naturally I'd rather buy it now than later. What are the chances of it arriving before I have to move?

Well I am sorry to say that I wouldn't count on it arriving before you move. There are quite a few of us that ordered on June 5th that still haven't received our MBPs. In fact some have actually had their estimated ship date delayed and we were already waiting 4 to 6 weeks. Maybe if you ordered before you moved and it hadn't shipped you could just change the shipping address without having to pay additional taxes. I am not sure how that works. I wouldn't really think changing your shipping address would change the cost once ordered, but I am just not sure. You could just tell them the reason for the change in shipping address was due to an extended vacation or visit. Good luck!

Just a quick message to notify that my order status was just changed (within the last hour or so) to "PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT".

Perhaps some others have changed?

Nice to see some fresh signs of movement at the Shanghai end, although my excitement at the "Prepared for shipment" status isn't what it was. I had a pretty painless 7 day wait in the "Not yet shipped" category only to grind to a halt in "Prepared for shipment" Hell. Perhaps there's a forgotten tray of tea mugs on mine, covering up the "Good to Go" label.

Hopefully those who've had to wait far longer than me to even get there will have a smooth and rapid transition through the "Prepared.." stage and on to "Shipped" and then "Delivered". I also hope that someone takes that manky old tray off to the canteen and sends my boxed up order on its way.

Sorry koops, don't know what went wrong with yours.

I called apple again last friday, this time I called sales instead of the custoemr service desk - again no real answer as to why others had theirs delivered before me who ordered later - I told them I was un happy about the situation and again they told me its because of the upgraded Hard drive - I then almost lost it at this point becuase this is my 6th call and I just asked them to give me an honest answer becuase that was a load of rubbish, others with the same spec had theirs - she then diverted to say my MBP would be shipped today (latest) guess what - still says "not yet shipped " i forgot to ask why they are still offering 7-10 days shipment on MBPs they know they can't deliver in that time? Anyone got an email adress for apple?

Yes, who has Steve’s email address? ;)
Perhaps we can send him an email with everyone who ordered their 15” with 7200rpm the first week and have not received anything yet. Maybe we get an explanation.

eerhhh! Credit card has been charged today - still says "still not shipped" though? the lady at sales said they would only charge once its shipped? - maybe that call to sales did do some good?! at loeast somehting has changed - its just a shame its £1600 on my credit card!!!
