Funny ?!? Mine says the same thing. CTN is same number as Delivery ref and like yours it says estimated delivery is 3rd July !!

TNT tracking doesn't work yet with CTN number. Just says carrier is UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER

Well unless they shipped them yesterday and only updated stuff today, I guess we're getting them tomorrow. It's not like they'll be on the same van, we're at opposite ends of the country...

I suppose we'll find out when they update with the right carrier information.

Well I hope it isn't on the same truck as yours !! :)

Yeah status seems well out of date - hopefully tnt tracking will kick in soon and they will be "out for delivery"

Being a bit more of a pessimist I think the tracking updates are more or less up to date, and it's just that they've screwed up the delivery date for some reason.

I'm expecting an update later today with proper carrier tracking and if I'm lucky I'll see my MBP before the weekend.

Annoyingly though, I don't know if I can take it home tomorrow - in fact I'm pretty sure I won't be able to as I've got alternative plans, so it'll have to sit at the office until Monday. :(

Yeah i'm thinking the same now - tomorrow or saturday delivered

Ok, so my shipping dates just got pushed back. How frustrating!!
It went from the 5th July to......

Ships by: 16/07/2007 - 19/07/2007
Delivers by: 23/07/2007 - 26/07/2007

Let's hope they're fixing bugs!

Yeah I think there is somthing going on, mine has been pushed back but the email i got said it was due to them under estimating the demand for the MBP - there's no point in trying to find out they won't tell you if its due to correcting faults etc...

Cancelling?

I’m slowly starting to lose my patience. Waiting over a month for a laptop is just too long. Especially with the technological developments going so fast! If those hard drives weren’t available the first couple of weeks they should not have sold them to people. My expected delivery date is July 25th. That's 7 weeks from the day I ordered!

Even though I bought a wireless mighty mouse and a new sleeve for my MBP today, I’m seriously thinking about cancelling my order.

You can always downgrade the harddrive if you don't want to wait. I'm sure if you phone up you can get that done without losing your place.

Just from browsing the thread, it seems like most of the people that are still waiting and who also ordered on June 5 or 6 are from Europe. Maybe whatever distribution center is in charge of custom building MBPs for Europe is horribly mis-managed or short on components.

I personally think apple should give a discount on the upgraded harddrive due to the longer wait or give a free upgrade maybe? for the inconvienience....:D

The apple store told us all to expect a 4-6 week delay when we ordered. It's been a little over 4 weeks since the new MPBs were released, so nobody deserves anything. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

Yes this does seem to be true, but when you really think about it the people posting here probably only account for a relatively small portion of the people that have actually ordered the new MBP so....there is no way of telling for sure. Everything is pure speculation and we will probably never know why some people got theirs earlier than others. As for mine, it seems pretty simple and straightforward to me. You see even in the states, most people don't know where Idaho is and we are always being confused with other states that also begin with the letter I. Which draws me to the conclusion that my state probably is a figment of my imagination. Poor Apple, no wonder the confusion, after all if the rest of the country doesn't recognize Idaho, why should they be expected to know where I am?:D :D :D Seriously, life is one big speed bump and we just need to get over it.

NO, i was actually quoted 3-4 weeks when I ordered so thats not the way it is..it will be 6-7 weeks before mine ships - I was mearly jesting regarding the free upgrade as we all know this will not happen...

The web page told us that when we ordered, but the phone person told us could be sooner. Meanwhile, the Apple web site has changed from 4-6 weeks to 5-7 days, then to 7-10 days. On top of that, people who have ordered AFTER some of us have received their merchandise whereas we have not.

This forum topic started in the first place because no other manufacturer (eg. Dell) is having a problem stocking a product with a 160 Gig 7200 RPM drive.

All in all, I think folks are right to feel that Apple can do better here. They're offering a great product and we all want it, but like the Forum topic says, this wait situation is "ridiculous"...

Well mine is now on its eighth day as "Prepared for shipment", so it can't be a problem of underestimating demand for the 7200 HDs in my case. I'm assuming that "prepared" means that it's been fully assembled and put in a box.

Now all I need is for someone to send that box on its way to the airport before they have to dust the poor thing.

Gosh, they must have heard me. I've just had an e-mail:

"The demand for the Product you ordered has been higher than anticipated. We are shipping as quickly as possible, but cannot meet the ship date we previously estimated for you. We now expect to ship your order by 11/07/2007.

"Your business is very important to us, and we apologise for any inconvenience that this change may cause...."

Considering the original shipping estimate was 01 August, no apology necessary.

(Edit to add: I'm assuming that date is in UK and not US style - i.e. 11th July & not November 7th)

I got the same message yesterday, if they underestimated, why are they bringing people shipments forward and then putting them back again? - soemones messing up somewhere..

Oh thanks a bunch for putting that idea in my head.;) So now I can't stop thinking about receiving a "turkey" instead of and Apple in November. By the way, I haven't received the dreaded email yet and I don't even want to go there. I can wait patiently for two more weeks (ok, somewhat patiently) for mine to be shipped, but I don't want to think beyond that!

ADC Experience

Did anyone order their 15" 7200 rpm MBP through Apple Developer Connection? I ordered mine on June 24, 2007--one day before the ADC website quoted 5-7 business days (it had 4-6 weeks at the time). I realize I haven't waited near as long as a lot of you...but i was wondering if anyone had received an MBP through ADC yet or seen it ship. Do they give less priority to ADC purchases? Mine is still labeled as "Not yet shipped" with "Ship by: August 7" and delivery on August 13.

Did anyone order their 15" 7200 rpm MBP through Apple Developer Connection?

I ordered Thursday morning through an ADC Student account (for the one-time discount):

We'll see what happens. I'm ordering from central USA, if it matters.

"Out for Delivery" via UPS !!

Tracking number added overnight. Left UK Distribution Centre at 9.26pm, arrived in Nuneaton just after midnight. Arrived in Tony's home town, Sedgefield at 7.26am and is now "out for delivery"

I'm off to press my face against the window - soooo excited !!

Interesting - just noticed UPS say there are 2 packages coming ?!

Looks like they are sending me an almost empty Applecare box aswell.

.... or maybe 2 x mbps !! that would be nice :D

Well I've got mine :)

Seems great so far - only a tiny amount of variation in colour over the screeen - entirely what I'd expect from an LCD - from a normal viewing position you wouldn't see it, and certainly not without staring at a flat colour image.

Build quality seems good - when closed it's not 100% even all around, but it's only a fraction of a mm out so I'm not bothered.

I'm off to have lunch before I play with it now :)
