Well the "Current Delivery Status" seems to have been updated today, as it's showing todays date, whereas for the last couple of days, it's shown yesterdays. However there's no actual information.

Maybe that means it's been processed at the local warehouse and it'll get sent out today. Or maybe they're just changing the date to stop me hassling them for more information...

Either way it's getting a lot closer to the estimated arrival time, so they'd better get a move on!

Hey guys, I have been playing around with it a bit and I must say that it's a bit different from my PowerBook. Screen is a bit brighter. The screen is just fine when looking straight at it. When looking on an angle it indeed does turn yellow but as I normally don't tend to work next to my laptop instead of in front it that shouldn't be too much of a problem :) And, as promised, some pictures :)

On the right is my PowerBook G4 (2nd last revision) and on the left is the new MBP 15" 2.4Ghz 7200rpm. Both at full brightness. Enjoy :)

Looks like your new MBP does not suffer from yellowing in the bottom of the screen. How lucky for you! Is it a glossy or matte screen? Samsung or LG? I am waiting for my replacement to ship - first one had yellowing on the bottom :(

It's matte model 9C68; which one was LG and which was samsung? :)

Yeah same here. Updated to todays date. Delivery estimate is still 7th July. Apecode still showing no error message. No carrier number yet

Hi 4np it looks like you have a Samsung screen, it maybe worth trying out the test image from here ( https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/313239/ ), though if you don't find the yellowing that noticeable then I wouldn't worry. Hopefully you don't have any problems (lucky).

No 4np - if what you see on the screen does not bother you and you are happy with it and think the laptop is perfect - then do NOT download that image and go looking for defects. Just enjoy your baby.

Still Waiting....

I'm new here, but have been reading this forum for a while. Hi to everyone! I am becoming really impatient with waiting for my MacBook Pro. I ordered on June 6th. Here is a breakdown of my history...

Shipping Location: Rome, NY
MacBook Pro Specs: 15.4" Matte, 2.4Ghz, 2Gb RAM, 7200RPM
Ships By: July 19
Delivers By: July 25

I used an educational discount and added an iPod to my order for free with the back to school promotion.

June 6 - Ordered MacBook Pro, 10:23PM Eastern Time Status: "Not Yet Shipped"
June 27 - Status Changed! "Being Prepared to Ship"
June 28 - Status Changed! "Prepared to Ship"
June 29 - Status Changed... "Not Yet Shipped"
June 30 - Read on these forums that people are receiving there's and mine hasn't even shipped
July 2 - Call Apple. No one knows why the delay is there. Gives me $50 credit back for waiting. :) Tells me to call in a week if there is no change.
July 4 - Still nothing changed...status still "Not Yet Shipped"

Can everyone else give us back detailed reports like this so we can start seeing if there is a pattern to this? Include your location, time ordered, specs of your laptop, the rundown of your history and if you used any discounts.

For what it is worth, here is my info:

Ordered with educational discount, iPod, printer. Received both in a timely manner.

Don't laugh, but yes I live outside of Boise, Idaho. If anyone does have an email address for Apple, I too would like to see it as well.

I am so sorry koops, yours and mine should go out the same day now and if they are delaying to fix any problems then I won't complain. Could save us a lot of time in the long run.

Thanks 4np for posting the pictures, it (or should I say she) looks beautiful.

Mine is now on its seventh day as "Prepared for shipment", with the same August 01 & 13 "ships by"/"delivers by" estimates that I've had ever since I ordered on 20th June.

I can't remember what time it was last week when my status moved from "Not yet shipped" but I think I've got a few hours of clinging to my theory that my MBP will follow a weekly progression - ordered one Wednesday, prepared for shipment the following Wednesday, ships the Wednesday after that and arrives extactly one Wednesday later.

It's a completely baseless theory but it's as good as any other, and I'll clutch at any straw that allows me to dismiss the possibility that those August estimates are actually pretty accurate.

Just wondered, is there anyway to track our mbp's using the tracking codes apple give us ? (smudged out ones)

Also seems weird to me that only the Applecare tracking number is a link

I still don't have any code under "carrier tracking number" - i'm expecting it just before it arrives at my door :)

Actually, to me it does look like you have the yellowing, But it is so subtle (just like mine) that most people don't notice it. I wonder if I should return it now or not...

I used Apecode for tracking my MBP. Apple was still telling me yesterday that my laptop was in Shanghai. Bit strange since it was delivered this morning..

Sometimes Apecode doesn't work, just hit refresh a couple of times and you'll be fine

Maybe I am way off here, but from what I have understood Apple seems to be shipping the new MBP with a color profile that is fairly yellow compared to what we are accustomed too. It was my understanding that if you changed the profile by calibrating you should be able to alleviate the yellow hues while looking straight on. If after calibration the bottom third of your machine is still yellow or even darker, then you have a problem. I don't know if any of this is true or relevant, but after reading the threads on the yellow tint, this what I understand. Hope in some way this helps, if not please ignore.

Unfortunately apecode works with some numbers, but for mine it stopped working entirely at the weekend. I can enter other numbers and see details (sometimes needing a few refreshes, as you say) but for mine it just comes back with an error now.

Apple's tracking basically sucks...

Yeah i've been using apecode but for the last 24 hours i've been getting an norwegian error message saying something like "not found". Just looking for an alternative before apple get there act together and give me a tnt code :/

wel... after a painfull wait, im typing on my MBP now, all is well apart from when i was running monolingual to remove the languages when it sounded like it was going to take off. Man the fans are loud.

Can anyone tell me if monolingual gets rid of everything that should be removed when installing tiger, i reinstalled tiger but i didnt get any options to remove anything, i did a erase and install :-\
apart from that this thing is amazing

I think the Yellow Problem is fuelling itself to some extent. People know about it so freak at the merest glimpe of the colour. It's clear that a lot of people have had a genuine fault with the band running across the lower third of their screen but there's a huge difference between that and the yellowing of the whole screen when viewed from the side, at an unnatural angle that is never going to be duplicated when actually using the machine.

The photos posted up-thread show a perfectly good screen. Sure, the "side on" view is yellow as yellow can be, but I just looked at my rickety old Dell screen from an equally dumb angle and guess what? Yellow. Straight on? White (or rather it will be when I clean it.)

I've been staring at the same for 3-4 days now.

I wish I knew how K+N's own tracking system worked behind the scenes of the apecode site... even with tracking numbers that work on apecode I can't get info from K+N so I don't know how to go about extracting any information about my own that and seeing what it is that apecode doesn't like...

I've tried plenty of combinations of codes and tracking systems but I'm pretty sure that it's still in Apple's hands at the moment.

Hey guys!

I ordered my MBP 2,4 GHz, 160 GB 7200 RPM, glossy yesterday at a local store. I didn't get any "code" or order number, so atm. I'm unable to check the status of my order.

So let me know if I got this right (browsed -- not read -- through most of the thread here):

A lot of people who placed their order in early June still haven't gotten theirs yet.

A lot of people who placed their order at a later time have been receiving their MBPs.

Basically if it looks like mine's gonna be like 2 months I think I'll reconsider the 7200 rpm drive. Then again, there's really no guarantee I'll get it faster if I switch to 5400 I guess : |

Anyone here placed a simular order this month? It would be helpful if you could post your order status in terms of ETAs etc. and also where you live.

What's the general consensus here: a few (unlucky) people that ordered in early June are still waiting while basically the rest are shipping out a "normal" rate, say 2-3 weeks?

Generally whatever estimate the apple online store gives, they ship within that. Right now if it's saying 5-7 days, it ought to ship in 7 days, tops.

However... some people who ordered right at the start haven't yet had their units ship, and no-one seems to know why. Others (like myself) who did get shipping notification are still waiting for it to actally turn up (it's only been a week though, and it wasn't guaranteed to be delivered in that time).

You should be able to get your order number so you can track it - have a word with the store. Otherwise, you can at least pop onto the website and put a similarly specced machine in your basket - it'll tell you the lead time.

Ah, another day of refreshing the order page for me, hoping to see some update, or maybe even some actual tracking information. For something advertised as "speed in it's most beautiful form" it's proving pretty glacial so far...

For those of you who are going to be gaming via Bootmap, Half-life 2 runs like a dream!

Wow, Apple have just updated my order page to say that they're going to deliver my MBP yesterday.

Neat trick. :)

Funny ?!? Mine says the same thing. CTN is same number as Delivery ref and like yours it says estimated delivery is 3rd July !!

TNT tracking doesn't work yet with CTN number. Just says carrier is UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER
