Where is the option to Allow All Factions?
Help appreciated.

Hey dude.

You can get all the ones it's possible to start with without modding the game by enabling the switch "Unlock All Factions" under the Advanced tab of the launcher.

FAQ on the DVD point 14 :)

How do you play as a faction other than the Romans in campaign mode?

To unlock a faction you must defeat it in a campaign. You may also enable all the playable factions by using the Enable All Factions check box in the Advanced panel of the pre-game Options window.

Hope that helps,

Hey Ian, I just have one single question, do you know if the napoleon total war will run smoothly with medium graphics and large army in the new 13" with the 320m graphics card?

Thanks so so much!

Napoleon is only available on the Windows platform right now so we know as much as you do! Although looking at the system specs on their website I think you should be fine.

Checking out the TotalWar website forums and speaking to some members their might offer some more detailed information.

Thanks for the help already, but could you please tell me EXACTLY where it is, so an idiot like me can find it.

Thanks.

I know I am really starting to sound like I am an idiot, and I am starting to think that I am one, but where can I find the screen Eddie?

Always show Dialogue Box

I just ran the game and checked off the Dialogue Box to see what would happen

You start the game and hold the command key to get it back.

So about that ppc patch...

It's coming...

Just making sure it is stable and playable before we release it. I have completed 2 complete campaigns myself on Rome PPC (so it does exist) but a few issues still remain. We should have a private PPC beta for people who have contacted support or ordered from our site soon. If you have a PPC Mac and own Rome contact support and they can add you to the beta list.

PPC has been a lot harder than we first thought and has required rewriting or reengineering of some fairly large areas, we also need to make sure these PPC changes do not effect the Intel version negatively so this has more time than expected.

Soo...Rome: Total War on Steam? Using SteamPlay? Pirates, too? Would be great, yes?

We are very keen to work with Valve. Unfortunately, Steam's business model makes it difficult for us to participate in the launch.
As soon as we have a game which will work with the business model we will be delighted to have it delivered by Steam.

Feral will be making it's games available for digital download from it's own store and through a range of 3rd party partners starting in the summer

hello.
i bought the game since it first came out and had a blast playing through the imperial campaign lag free... this was a couple of months ago. i took a break for my mcats and now that i'm done i started to play again yesterday. except this time, there is a ton of lag. the load times for battles are about 2 minutes and i find myself reading the Sun Tzu's quote about 100 times. the game runs smoothly while i can hear CD spinning, but when it stops spinning and i press another button, the screen suddenly freezes for 3 seconds until the CD starts to spin again. this happens over and over again for the entirety of play.

i found that by reinstalling the game, the lag completely disappears for the first time i start the program and comes back when i quit and play the game for the second time after reinstalling. can someone please help me with this? it makes it really annoying and difficult to manage cities and fight battles when this happens... and i don't want to have to reinstall every time i want to play the game smoothly.

oh yeah, and my specs are 21 inch imac 3.06GHz 4GBram nvidia 9400 version 10.6.3

thanks!

Can you elaborate on this? What's wrong with their business model? Aspyr has managed to get Civ IV+expansions on there.

That's silly. Aspyr already has a piss poor digital store, we don't need yet another Mac publisher doing their own thing. Please, jump on the Steam bandwagon. Gamers want their digital games in as few locations as possible. Steam just opened the floodgates for Mac gaming and I personally won't buy a single digital Mac game from anywhere else going forward.

The jury is out on that right now. People who already owned the Civ IV games on Steam can't seem to access them on Mac right now... Aspyr... sigh.

Neither can people who just bought it. I don't think they've uploaded the mac files to steam yet.

Are you making sure to run the Rome: Total War application from the Applications folder on your hard drive, rather than from the DVD?

What's wrong with [Steam's] business model?

There's nothing wrong with it! But for now at least, it doesn't work for us. If we can get it to work, we'll be on there quicker than you can say 'digital purchase and delivery network with strong community features'.

Are you able to qualify [Feral's plans for a digital download store and being part of other download services] a bit more? I'd consider buying a digital download version, but I don't really care to have another disc lying around.

Digital downloads of Feral games have been in the works for quite some time, and I believe we've mentioned it before on this forum. We're saying 'in the summer' at the moment, but this may change. As soon as we have a more definite date, we'll be shouting it from the rooftops!

We try to be as open as we possibly can on these forums, 'cos we're gamers too and it sucks to be given rubbish information! Sometimes we just can't talk in as much detail as we'd like for business reasons though, so I hope everyone understands. :)

In the spirit of full disclosure and openness, however, I can exclusively reveal that today the biscuit of choice in the Feral office is the dark chocolate-coated McVitie's Digestive! Delicious.

Why is Feral so good?

I know this is a bit of a silly question, but...

Why is Feral so good at porting games to Mac?

I ask this because, the Rome Total War port is one of the most stable crossover titles I've played. I have had some bugs, oddly though, they seem to be the same ones I had on a PC.

What do you guys do that makes your games work, besides putting a lot of time in?

I know this is a bit of a silly question, but...

Because we're FUELLED BY THE SOULS OF THE DAMNED!

Erm… I mean… er…

In seriousness, thank you so much for your kind words! Very glad you you're enjoying Rome.

What do you guys do that makes your games work, besides putting a lot of time in?

To be honest, putting a lot of time in, particularly in testing, is one of the biggest things. We've also got some extremely talented and experienced programmers who have a habit of doing things comparable to witchcraft when it comes to porting games.

But essentially the whole company is held together by the tireless dedication, intelligence and good looks of the guys who represent Feral on the forums. Yep.
