The only con of Note 9 is it shares same processor with s9 so bit outdated, where as Note 10 it will have bit upgraded processor than s10 which is step forward for the Note line.

The Unpacked event does appear to be starting a lot later than usual.

Tom's Guide has a chart and article pitting the rumored Note 10/10+ specs against those of the S10 and S10+. It also mentions what little has been leaked about the 5G version.

It would be cool to get the 5G version as a bit of future proofing. But realistically I won't be seeing 5G in my area for at least another year. Most likely 2 years. And it will be teeth grindingly expensive to get the plan when it does come out on AT&T.

And I'm likely to trade up just for camera upgrades before then anyway, like if they ever put a Huawei type super zoom lens on it. I'm getting the base model specs. On these trades you seem to instantly lose the investment into upgraded specs.

Tom's Guide is still pushing the rumor the Note 10+ will still have an SD card slot.

I agree, it will be interesting to see what ends up being confirmed.

I'm in the same boat as you, 5G would be cool to future proof with, but at the same time by the time I get it in my area (2021 likely) I'll be buying a new phone anyway. Plus rumor is the next wave of 5G modems will be much more power efficient next year (and more so the year after).

256gb as a base should be fine for most users I bet.

Looking forward to see how big the 10+ really is (width and length)
I read an article that put them at:
Note 10 - 151 x 72 x 7.9 mm
Note 10+ 162.3 x 77.4 x 7.9 mm

For reference the Note 9 is 161.9 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm.

Thanks for this. So...only IP68 after all. Rumors pegged it at IP69.

Ha, I forgot what size my existing battery is. Ugh my morning coffee has worn off. I've been up since 4 a.m. so I'll have to wait another time to go comparing all the specs I'm interested in.

I'm terrible at figuring this stuff out...so, if they all have the same ppi, what is the advantage of the WQHD+ over the FHD+ screen?

Im also curious about this as well.....I read FHD+ is better for the battery?

It's supposed to be better for the battery. My S10+ can run on either FHD+ or WQHD. I don't notice a huge difference in battery life between settings, but I do notice fonts look smoother on WQHD+ so I leave it on WQHD+. I have my fonts set to be fairly large since I've got that middle aged vision thing going on. When fonts are as large as I've got mine displayed, the FHD+ looks rougher or smudged a bit.

I don't see quite as big a difference in pictures and videos.

I just wondered if there was some significance to Samsung making deciding on this spec for the smaller Note. Given that the S10 can run WQHD+ it's a dubious decision in my opinion.

So, has anybody got a color preference among the leaked colors? I went crazy for the pink at first but find I like them all pretty evenly. Which is a good thing because we never know what regional availability shenanigans Samsung will pull. And then on top of that, sometimes the carriers in the US also restrict color choices.

I do think the pure white one looks elegant. That may end up being the one.

My husband told me late last night he did put in a reservation. Ha, I knew he would cave in!

Blue or black for me I think. Usually rock a case (at least have done on my Note 8, had 2 drops and breaks this year alone!).

I had no idea a new Note was coming out soon! I was thinking of getting an ipad mini now i’ll think i wait? I need something to compliment my Ipad Pro as a productivity/drawing tool. Does anyone knows if drawing apps have improved on the Note/(Android)?

I’m afraid for me it’s been years since my last note, Note7 and I don’t know if they improved on the one App I tried which was good but had a learning curve to it. I don’t remember what it was called. So I’m basically having the same question as you about that.

The benefit to the iPad mini 4 is the price is nice. I love mine. I don’t do any drawing on it lately, but I have a daughter who does. She likes it well enough for that purpose.

What drawing app do you like best for iPad?

Yeah I definitely need and use cases. I’ve dropped myself down a flight of stairs twice this year alone! Fortunately I didn’t have a phone on me at the time. Once I fell on a hiking trail and a UAG wallet case saved my iPhone 7 Plus from my butt and some pebbles. :p More recently, Caudabe clear cases have done wonders to protect my iPhone and my teen’s iPhone. But I don’t think they make cases for Samsung unfortunately. I’ve got a Ringke clear case on my S9+. I love it but it’s starting to yellow already.

The usual, Procreate and Affinity designer (for more graphic work). I’ll probably just get an Ipad mini 5 anyway. The icloud syncing alone is worth it to have a more portable drawing device to draw on out and about. I might replace my Pixel 2XL for the Note 10 instead. But then i’ll lose out on the awesome camera. Decisions, decisions.

The Galaxy Note 10+ will support 45W fast charging and should therefore give Samsung the opportunity to better compete with Huawei. But unlike the P30 Pro and Mate 20 Pro which ship with 40W chargers inside the box, Samsung’s 45W bricks will need to be purchased separately.

Apple move lol

Ack yeah I meant iPad mini 5. Lol I've totally lost track!

Time for Samsung to apply screen protector too, Huawei and Oneplus have screen protector on their devices shipped, it is tradition of Chinese smart phones to have case and screen protectors included.

It says its included on the specs, probably similar to the S10, which wasn't the best quality.

This is the first year I’m not gonna upgrade my iPhone.

It almost feels like an insult if apple put out what the rumours are suggesting currently. Almost primitive in comparison to Samsung’s offerings this year

It was ok. I would have left mine on if I hadn’t been concerned about what looked like a nick in the glass. It was a dent in the screen protector.

Samsung isn’t too bad. I have gotten so many freebies and heavy discounts from them over the years that I can’t complain.

My husband got one Huawei phone and really didn’t care for the free case and stuff that came with it. He used his own purchases.

I can see how it seems miserly not to include some of the freebies but at the same time anything that cuts down on waste is good for business and the environment.

I’m not talking about the fast chargers. I’m just talking about the freebies of questionable desirability.
