I checked out the 10+ today. It was lagging. I wasn’t surprised at all. Samsung makes attractive hardware but that’s about it.
The note 10+ was lagging?

I really don't think it is, but I agree about the weight, though I wouldn't mind either way.
I think the S10+ has an aluminium frame. It feels a lot lighter than my Xs max.

Nice video. If the regular Note10 had QHD+ screen, ToF sensor, and both models had headphone jack I'd be pretty sold. But I'd literally rather have the headphone jack since I use it that much.
Every night when I get into bed I get mad that I can’t charge my phone and use wired headphones at the same time. I need to see the note 10+ before I make a decision though.

Stainless steel and glass lol...

It's aluminium .
Is this an official Samsung video, quite misleading if it is. However I remember when when there was a big rumour going round that camera lens on one of the older iPhones was made of sapphire glass.

Stainless steel just makes the phone more expensive.

I like the white best, then black. I don't mind the Aura Glow because I'm always getting the safe colors. I also knew it would eventually be handed off to my other half in a few months. So she had part in choosing that color. The white will be my daily driver.
Is the aura glow a female friendly colour? Grumpy mom likes it, your OH and the YouTube tech guy said his wife is getting that colour. I wish they would have them in the stores here in the UK so I could see if I could tolerate the aura glow. Black is so boring and I’m pinning for white. I can get a white S10+. Even my gold Xs max is getting on my nerves now. I preferred my silver (white) X.

I’d avoid comparing demo units. I had the S10+ and it was completely lag free. I’m sure the Note 10 will be very smooth.
My husband’s note 8 is still not lagging and it’s two years old next month. My S7 edge didn’t lag when I used it for 4 months and neither did my S9 +. This lagging business is so old.

Let's be honest now, the iphone xs max feels like a complete brick. Considering the size of the Note 10 Plus, going aluminum is the better choice for weight savings. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a super light phone, but I also don't want a 200+ gram brick. Then there's the stainless steel being easily prone to scuffs and scratches. Of course a case will take care of that, or spending extra money on polish and buffing out the scuffs and scratches like you do a car. But dang, who's got time for that? lol. So it's not like stainless steel is the only premium choice.
Aluminium is fine. We were all fine with aluminium until Apple brought out the X with stainless steel. I don’t mind the weight of the Xs max however stainless steel does nothing for me aesthetically or functionally and all it does is ramp up the cost. Aluminium is perfectly fine.

Same here, I'd like a Note 10+, but there's no real reason I have to justify getting one as my Note 9 is still a lag free beast and I really don't want a hole or notch.

The lag talk is overdone, if people are trying demo units then yeah, I can see how they might feel the device is laggy, you can make any device run like a pig.
For most anecdotal claims of lag, there's video clips to the contrary.
Then again, no one should give a flying whatever over anecdotal claims.

In the past, due to forums, I was overly checking for signs of lag. This was several years ago and if I hadn’t read about, I probably would’ve never noticed it.

fast forward to the last few years and lag is a thing of the past. Both android and iOS have the odd crash and micro stutter but to make a thing out of it is crazy imo.

I’m gonna pre-order...this is something I’ve never done before, and I’m excited. Pre-order bonus here in Australia is good too.

Hmmmm...can’t decide between glow and black. The other day I saw the black under the lights in the Samsung store and it turned blueish (I even thought it was blue initially). Both are very nice.

I’m still miffed about the lack of a headphone jack though. Really really annoyed. There isn’t even a headphone jack adapter in the box.

But either way, it’s time to get a new device, what with my Android duties being handled by an ancient HTC One M8 (went back to it after my 2-year-two-month old HTC 10 broke down).

The note is a good weight and very well put together. The S10(+) however, is comically too light, Sammy dropped the ball there.

Ha, my first experiences of Samsung included the Note 7 (twice), a chronically overheating S7, and those godawful S8 pluses. My s8+ had a pink stained display. And lord did it lag. My husband and I found the S8+ barely usable after awhile.

So, if anyone has a reason to have a personal vendetta against the brand, I figure it's gotta be me.

But I know Samsung's leadership keeps striving for improvement. And in all of that mess, I found aspects worth coming back for.

With the S9 they turned a corner. Mine was a purple goddess I'll love and miss forever. We've not had any permanent recurring problems with lag on the S9's and S10's. Just the occasional bloop we get on iOS and Pixels.

Actually, our 3XL's have had more dealbreaking issues, which is why we took our sims out of them and made the Samsungs our secondary phones.

But I can understand why Pixels are more appealing with the streamlined OS. I get it. And I want to see Google refine the Pixel experience (at a faster pace than they have showed thus far).

But no need to deny that Samsung has highly refined the experience it seeks to sell, which is meant to be very different. If you don't like this different kind of Android, it makes no sense to keep paying attention to it, nor to keep lobbing the same outdated insults at it. It will never be like Pixel's or OnePlus's feel and operation. Samsung is going for an entirely different experience. They've even named their UI to indicate that.

Also, usually it is Samsung that at least delivers the innovations I'm really eager for, while I am forced to wait a year or two...or three with Google and Apple. I get to hold the future in my hands sooner with Samsung.

I was very critical of Samsung in the past, alot on these boards called me a hater or Apple fanboy. But I just thought they could do so much better than they had been. When the Note 4 launched you could see they were turning a corner, then they made a big upgrade to touchwiz and the S6 was released. From that point forward, Samsung has been one of my favorite brands. Are they perfect? no. But, like apple, they are one of the best manufacturers and their software has been on a steady march of improvements and polish with every upgrade.

The S10e has been one of my all time favorite phones and I can't wait for my Note 10, I just don't think at this time there is another Android manufacturer out there that has this combination of hardware build, design, specs, and software features. Sure others may excel in one aspect or the other (Pixels have great software and camera, but subpar in hardware and design).

Why does Samsung always do this? Different markets get different colours and versions?

Here in Australia we only get Aura Black and Aura Glow. We get dual SIM only on the Note 10+, and the only model to get 512 GB is the 5G model (no 256 GB on that), the rest are all 256 GB only. Back in Kuwait, I can get dual SIM on both sizes, I can get 512 GB on the 4G/LTE Note 10+, AND we also get Aura White as an option. But I would really like to look at the other ones colours too.

I paid deposit $300 today and been told it should be ready on Friday.

Instore it took me 10 minutes to decide but chose black, they both are beautiful but i like solid colour

They are indeed! I kept going back and even started to go to different retailers just to get a feel for the colours in different environments. The first time I saw the black one I thought it was the blue one!

I’m too easy to please. Regardless of colour selection, I get the black.

predictable and boring but pretty much guaranteed to get the colour I want, every time! Lol

Took a look today at Best Buy like many others, that screen is pretty incredible and it is very light for the Note 10+. Pretty happy I preordered one. Not sure if I am sold on the hole punch in the middle yet, guess we will see if it annoys me in regular usage.
