The other thing I noticed with the camera on the S10+, having 2 kids and one being a toddler, they’re not always still when I take pictures. The Galaxy performed the worst in regards to getting a shot without blur. I sometimes would take several shots only to not being able to use any of them. I wonder if this has improved at all with the Note 10.
Ah yeah, kids. If not for being a mamarazzi who is trying to document every school plah, every goal scored, every birthday party, I would not upgrade at the dizzying pace that I seem to find myself on.

I do own DSLR and a fancy camcorder. I find that the kids find them incredibly distracting, other parents and teachers and coaches find them intrusive and annoying, and I can never get the response times I need hauling the gear out of my bag and removing the lens caps. Not to mention the weight. I know some people who do wield the real cameras as adeptly as if they were an extension of their arms, but I never developed that grace.

But smartphones...everybody has learned to unsee them to some extent. All the other parents have them aimed at the kids so I don't stick out like a sore thumb. The kids sometimes even ask to get selfies with other friends.

So my frustration then with smartphones becomes all the little ways they are weak compared to the full sized gear.

I've had the same blur problems you've run into. Toddlers are a nightmare to photograph indoors with my S10+. I also sometimes don't care for the white balance results I get on auto mode as it can give amber cast.

I used to be really good at speeding through the controls on pro mode, but on the S10+ my fingers are sticking on this stupid film protector. I miss the original one that came with the phone. I really miss tempered glass!

I have two toddlers (3 and 14 months) so maybe I should stay away from Samsung phones. I’m also an annoying mum taking pictures and videos of everything.

Can't hurt to try one. Direct from Samsung gives you a 28 day return window. I requested a return for my S10+ on day 28. lol

What remains to be seen is if the software side of the Note 10 has improved that at all. And really, I get it on the iPhone a lot too. The Pixel is the only camera that consistently gets it right.

In my time with the S10 plus, it's still the best phone I've ever used. The only real disappointment was the camera and that was just in comparison to the Pixel devices. Video recording with the S10 plus was immense and is probably only rivaled by the iPhone.

If the Note could come even close to current gen Pixel quality, it would be hands down the best device.

I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to trade/sell my XS Max 256gb for a Note 10+. I checked one out at Sams Club this morning and it got my itch going for a Note again. Ugh.....

If you do that, definitely don't do a trade. You'll get $200-$300 more on Swappa or somewhere like that .

I order the Note 10+ White direct from Samsung. My "cancel order" button is gone now they should probably ship Sunday night going into Monday morning for delivery Wednesday :)

Nice. I just checked mine. Currently showing to be shipped Aug.21. Anyone ordering now, will have a shipping date of Sept. 9. Here's hoping they under promise, and over deliver. Opening that shipping confirmation email is gonna feel like opening presents as a kid on Christmas. Lol

I have seen a LOT of people over the years post this exact same thing. Then later regret moving asway from their iPhone for one reason or another.
So if you are really immersed into the Apple eco-system....then maybe dip your toes in the Android waters a little so to speak at first. Buy a Note 10 and try it during the return period.

Swap sims (turn off iMessage first) from your iPhone to the Note 10 and use it as your daily driver for a while. See if it is the right fit for you. There is no shame to going back to your iPhone.....

I have both a Xs Max and Pixel 3 XL and swap back and forth all the time. Sometimes having both is better than being exclusive o_O

And then there’s people like me who needs about 4x their disposable income so they could own like 5 different phones.

But the very best value for your money, you get so much for what you pay comparing to others.

What??? lol

They are in the same $1k plus range of all flagship smart phones yet lose their value faster then any other big brand. Especially when compared to Apple.

Where is the value?

So the US get free Galaxy Buds, Australia get expensive AKG wireless headphones and the UK gets absolutely nothing!

There is more to it than just the resale value. The Note is like having a miniature laptop.I have ability to connect to a monitor and sync a BT mouse and keyboard. No other phone offers that functionality.
The Note line offers more functionality than most phones. So for the money they are a great value and offer more for the price tag.

Especially with the newest version of Dex on the Note 10. You're right when you say no other phone offers this functionality. Not even close.

Thats real odd, can't imagine the UK not being an important market. Maybe you guys just aren't a Note market.
If we're not, you'd think they'd want to entice us! As I'm sure it'll be between the Note & Pixel for my next phone, a nice incentive I could sell on would minimise the loss if I ended up selling in favour of the Pixel. That massive, awesome display on the Note is very appealing.

Its good , you are recording the past for the future :) The pics and videos you are recording now will be valuable for you kids and grand grand grand kids.

You probably are missing out on early conversations.

Samsung cameras are perfectly fine and right on par or better than iPhones. Frankly, it's Pixel photes and then a significant drop off to everyone else.

A lot also depends on what you're taking pictures of. If it's a stationary object in good light, almost all flagships phones take an excellent picture. It's moving objects and odd lighting where the difference is big. The moving objects photos I've taken with my Pixel 3A XL blow away anything I took with my S10 plus. If taking pictures of your kids is a priority, then Pixel devices should be far ahead of anything else.
