So for anyone that doesn't like the status bar always just sitting there on every screen, you can install Good Lock, and use Quickstar to get rid of the whole status bar. I myself prefer the look of a full display without that status bar being there. My notifications are perfectly viewable on pull down or lockscreen. No need for a status bar. Also, to complete the full immersive experience, do yourself a favor and hide the navigation bar as well. This also means hide the gesture hints, it's not like you can't remember 3 spots. Lol.
So far, I am loving this phone. I'm completely used to the button placements and gestures. I adapt to change very easily. The Buds are amazing and to my ears, they sound amazing. Totally worth it's retail price. I can't imagine anyone ever picking Airpods over these, for sound quality. The look and feel of this phone is second to none. The complete lack of bezel and square design, just gives it the cleanest modern minimalistic look of any phone out there. Very professional, and very premium. This design language becomes even more important when you put on a case, as a case always adds a little bulk. Between the two Spigen cases I bought, the case I'd recommend as a daily driver, Spigen Rugged Armour. It gives the most protection for the least amount of added bulk. It's all black, with faux carbon fibre patches on top and bottom. You also get a nice hit of the Aura Glow through the camera cutout. Very nice. I will also be ordering the ESR metal kickstand clear case. It's not perfectly flat, but I like that the kickstand can hold the phone in landscape and portrait mode. It's also a very sturdy kickstand, and being a clear case, it shows off the Aura Glow nicely. I don't expect any phone to be perfect, but for now, I honestly have no complaints.
