I agree with that

For example when you upgrade your iPhone iOS is so good at syncing everything over so your new phone is as exactly like the last back you did on your old one/
However android doesn't do that as well. I remember when I factory reset my s10 plus and not everything was restored like apps etc...

Ditto, took me hours!! Going from max to S10 plus. Not an easy transition at all

That’s the ironic thing though, as iOS is so stale for all intent and purposes even with a new iPhone, it is EXACTLY the same!

I wish we used WhatsApp in the states. Out of the hundreds of contacts I have, I'd venture to say 90% are on Verizon and we use SMS/MMS. iMessage was really nice and most of my family and friends are on iPhone, but I am enjoying the Note 10 and Android too much to go back to iOS.
Whatsapp is ******.. gugl should bring imessage competitor and stand behind it

And hate to say it, but iOS isn’t nearly as intuitive as it used to be. I get more bugs and glitches than I used to. iOS 13 is a mess too.

Also remember what flossy said. When you have the note you feel like a boss knowing you’ve got the best phone on the market :p

Yes! And the jack of all trades too! I have a good buddy that has done nothing but the Note series since the 5. He upgrades every 2 years and says that he’s actually so stuck in the ecosystem, almost like Apple folks.

Trouble is in US the carriers make it very difficult to give an incentive

eg if you said to most you can save $50-60/year on your line charges many would jump if all l you have to do is use Whatsapp on your data package and only receive sms, which is free internationally

But unfortunately most carriers do not offer or even disclose breakdowns on sms/mms cost as its just an inclusive unlimited bundle

That's why many carriers like IOS users as they get to charge for the inclusive bundle but those who use IMessage exclusively get little value from the bundled price

Many people in Asia take advantage and can run their smartphones on just a couple of $ a month by using WiFi, small data package and no sms/mms send charges as they use Whatsapp or Line

My only criticism of the Note is the battery and the camera is sometimes a little off with moving subjects. So unless I've got a biscuit to make my dog sit still with, I often end up with blur. The Pixel and iPhone are better at capturing moving subjects. But it's a very small niggle. I find the Note camera to be super reliable in almost all other aspects.

Try holding down the shutter button to invoke burst mode may help or use the toggle open in previous mode and set your pro mode with a faster shutter speed :)

Sorry if this is old news, bit hectic here and I might have missed some posts. But I ran across this today regarding a case preview https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/olixar-...e-11-pro-case-apple-pencil-holder-black-76272

I guess most people have heard rumors the iPhone 11 max Pro or whatever it's called is going to have Apple Pencil support. That is the most compelling evidence of substance to the rumors I've seen so far. A case with a pencil holder built in.

Interesting, unless its built in like the spen though, I'm skeptical how much support it would get in software and don't think I would want to add bulk for the pencil.

Apps would probably soon support it, but not being built into the phone would be a pain. Can't imagine too many people wanting to carry a pencil around loose in their pocket.

Thanks for the tip! How do you make the navigation bar disappear? I know how to make it gesture mode but cant figure out how to make everything disappear. At the moment I have navigation bar set up with four buttons using the Good Lock app.

You can't actually make the status bar disappear, my mistake for describing it that way. What you can do is, get rid of all the indicators, giving the effect of no status bar. I don't like static images that are always present regardless of the app you have open. So I got rid of them. To see how, look at my following post after the one you quoted. I was replying to another poster who had the same question. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately I had to leave suddenly and truncate my post before I got to give my thoughts on this news, but as it turns out you pretty much said what I was thinking.

The S-Pen has been in existence and refined for a good long time and each year provides increasing function for its size. Some of its abilities are gimmicky, but a lot is useful and gracefully integrated into the User interface.

It does look like the Apple Pencil will have to be attached to the case. That's not as elegant as the integration of the S Pen into the body of the Note. It's still a welcome development and offers iPhone users an option they never had before...if it comes to fruition.

You should hide those unsightly gesture hints at the bottom of your screen. Lol. :p Just buggin, to each their own.

Speaking of gestures, for anyone else who wants to try Good Lock and use the One Hand Operation+ app, here's a set up starting point, in case you don't want to be bothered with your own set up. I just helped a buddy with his Note10+, he couldn't decide on what felt was intuitive for the gestures, so I showed him my settings, and he found it useful. He's not the most tech savvy guy. So for him to find the gestures intuitive and an improvement to the experience, the app may be of interest to you. Keep in mind the blue edge handle you see in the screen shot below, is only visible during setup. I have the transparency set to max, so you won't actually see it while using your phone. I also only use the right handle as I'm right handed, so adjust as needed. One last thing, I recommend hiding the navigation bar for the best use of space when using this app, and it just looks cleaner.

Well I’m going to go and have a look at both the Galaxy watch and the first gen Galaxy watch active this morning. If I like the Galaxy watch more I’ll buy it but if I like the active more then I’ll preorder the active 2.

Hey all, this might be a wonky question to ask, but is there any way to have my screen turn on with notifications? What I mean is let's say you send me a text message, is there a setting somewhere that will send the phone to the lock screen instead of it just popping up on the AOD?
