Does anyone know how to fix the problem where your playstare app updates are not appearing as on the home screen play store badges?
I have to go manually into the play store and check if the apps need updating as the badges do not appear..

Hold down the Playstore icon, then go into "app info," then go into notifications, and turn on the appropriate settings.

For me the Note 10+ has been the fastest most responsive phone i have used to date. there is no lag or hesitation at all. Apps load faster than any phone I have used to date.
the 12 GB of ram means this phone never seems to reload or refresh apps....
That means app just load almost instantaneously.

My ONLY ding on the Note 10+ is the curved display. Really wish it came with a flat display.
Amazing good to know. I like 12GB RAM and obviously love the screen. Just probing with questions to make sure I make the right decision.

I played with a Note 10 today but was surprised by the slight lag/stutter compared with cheaper Android phones?
Although it will get Android 10, I am worried that the gestures won’t be as fluid as they are on Pixels.

Samsung hardware is the best and I loved the Gold S6 Edge Plus when I owned one. The note would suit me as I use Instagram a lot and enjoy photography. It’s just that speed is difficult not to miss ones you have had it for a while.

How fast or fluid does your Note 10 feel compared with other phones are you also using?
Not sure what you encountered mate. Only guess is a handset on demo mode that may have not been optimised.

In fact I have previously had the S9, Note9 and now the Note10.. no lagging ever on any of those devices all the while the RAM has been increasing! Even on Note9 after 10 months it was buttery smooth.

I have had the Note10 for three weeks now and trust me the 8gb RAM is plenty to keep it buttery smooth. The Note10 is definitely on par with the Pixels and iPhones of this world in terms of UX fluidity.

I’m damn tired of people complaining about the headphone jack in general or refusing to buy a phone because of no headphone jack. Just use/buy a dongle if you’re that upset.
So am I
Would I have liked one? Sure why not. But seriously I've been using Airpods since the beginning of 2017 and now the galaxy buds. The only time I like wired headphones is in bed. Otherwise not at all. I find them restricting.

Anyhow I'm fed up of people harping on about it in every video.

Indeed. There are usb c to headphone jack adapters. Furthermore the youtubers who moan all use airpods or wireless Sony 1000XM3. Go figure.

I find Linus terribly annoying and can’t watch an entire video of his—he’s just perpetually whining about everything.

And I can appreciate someone’s preference for a headphone jack but its near extinction on smartphones is a done deal, so bitching and moaning about something that will soon be ancient history is just tiresome—get over it already. If someone refuses to buy a device specifically because of its omission, you’re going to be likely compromising any number of any other areas of the phone. You want to die on that hill, so to speak, go ahead. Just spare the rest of us because most of the rest of the buying public got over it a while ago.
Also the number of new high end devices that still have a headphone Jack are dwindling by the day.

He's such a whinger. Do you remember that mac pro debacle. He went on and on about that for months.

My tasks for this weekend are to re-organise my photos into albums on Google photos and to transfer all my music locally onto my phone. All my music is stored in Google play music and I've been too lazy to transfer it my device.

Was your hands on session in a store? If it was, then be wary of Samsung's retail mode. I have no idea why they keep insisting on all their demo units running some version or other of this utter crap, it completely warps the experience of using their devices. I can't remember when I've store tested a Samsung phone that didn't lag like nuts, interrupt your testing with info screens and animated demo sequences, abruptly reset settings changes you've made to display mode, brightness, sound etc., or just plain reboot in your face without warning.

It's absolutely appalling, and worst of all completely unnecessary. Just let the freaking devices be, already! So people can get a feeling for how they actually behave. Like Apple luckily does with their iPhones. Coming to the Apple table after testing Samsung's lineup will invariably be like first getting knocked around at a busy airport for an hour while trying to find your way, and then suddenly stumbling upon that out of sight gate with nobody in it where you can just sit and do your thing until boarding time. Ahh. The iPhones will just sit there without any stupid demo insinuating that I don't know how to use a smartphone. Perfectly lag free - like Samsung's phones actually are too, unless of course you force them to perform some ridiculous song and dance to prove how cool they are!

Sorry went off on a bit of a rant there :D But man this gets me fuming every time. Sometimes I want to be so rich that I can buy Samsung's entire mobile division, just so I can fly over to South Korea, suddenly barge into their top execs' meeting room, go around the table giving them each a severe pants down spanking and then fire them all on the spot. Samsung makes gorgeous hardware but they unfortunately also make some of the stupidest decisions in the business. Their retail mode for example, needs to die in a fire.

Apologies again  and as you were please, maybe I need a second cup of morning coffee here...

I like Linus, he knows his .. ummm ..stuff.

Yeah, he's a bit whiney, his voice is quite nasally but there's not many on youtube with his wide grasp of technology.

I loved his video at the Space center with the inner workings of the Saturn V rocket.

I agree with a lot of what he said in the Note 10 video too.

I have a quick question about samsung pay on the galaxy watch. With the Apple watch, even the non LTE version I can leave my phone at home and still make payments with the watch. Does the Samsung watch always need to be connected to your phone to use Samsung pay?

Google's play music app is amazing , the $11/ month premium or redtube account is well worth it.
Unfortunately they're phasing it out. I actually use Spotify now and then have other albums and live shows downloaded. Like for some reason, Biffy Clyro's Infinity Land album isn't on Spotify in the states.

All Samsung watches I have had (Gear S3, Gear Sport, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active) have not needed the phone nearby (connected) to perform Samsung Pay transactions. Although I believe you will only be able to make a limited number of transactions (possibly 10 - dont quote me on that).. without the watch being connected to your phone.

Just picked up the Samsung Rugged Case. Absolutely love it. Prefer caseless but when I need something extra, this is great.

samsung said i could only send it in to be repaired, not exchanged for a new one. here is where apple still wins. apple would've just gave me a new phone.

i'll just keep it until i can trade it in for the s11
You're not going to get it repaired?
