So this is odd and I might need more time to test this, but a couple days ago, my fingerprint scanner started having errors. Turns out, when I unchecked "Reduce Animations", it suddenly started working better! Not sure why that would be, but just a heads up for anyone else who might have issues.

no, too much of a hassle. i'd have to send it in for weeks and have to go find a replacement phone for that time. i could return this one and get a refurbished one from at&t but its ok.
Surely better than selling a faulty product for much less when the S11 is out?

its a samsung product. no one is selling it. the best value you'll ever get is to trade it in back to samsung. the note 9 got me 600 bucks via trade in.
What I’m getting at is that you have a faulty product. So Samsung will give you the same money for a phone that doesn’t work properly as they would for one in pristine condition & no issues?

If they don't I'll send it in for repair. There's a one year warranty on it. Either way they're fixing this crappy lemon they sold me

I honestly think when it comes to flagships, camera comparisons are at the point where you can't go wrong with any of the flagships. It really is amazing how far cameras have come on mobile devices. Entry to mid level point and shoots are pretty much dead.

It absolutely could but of course I’ll reserve judgement until we can see some proper, fully fleshed out comparisons with fully enabled software.

It wasn’t that long ago that Google’s photo experience on their devices was less than spectacular (Nexus days) so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that others have made larger strides forwards, especially when many competitor’s devices have more camera lens. But again, I’ll believe it when I see it. :D

I like Linus, he knows his .. ummm ..stuff.

Yeah, he's a bit whiney, his voice is quite nasally but there's not many on youtube with his wide grasp of technology.

I loved his video at the Space center with the inner workings of the Saturn V rocket.

I agree with a lot of what he said in the Note 10 video too.

I’ve no doubt that he’s quite knowledgeable, just can’t tolerate his whiney rants. Of course, to each their own.

Google's play music app is amazing , the $11/ month premium or redtube account is well worth it.

Better enjoy it while you can because as previously mentioned, Google is going to be dropping it fully for YouTube Music. That’s when I’ll be changing my music subscription.

samsung said i could only send it in to be repaired, not exchanged for a new one. here is where apple still wins. apple would've just gave me a new phone.

i'll just keep it until i can trade it in for the s11

Apple so called "still wins" depends where you live. Many countries their support is the same as Samsung and forget about this 14 days trial period, only DOA are returnable.

YouTube Music in it's current state is pretty rough. It feels like one of Google's half-ass apps that linger around for a few years and then is killed. Hopefully they give it an overhaul before they kill Google Music.

No wonder, it was too good to be true :(

What happens to the stuff you bought?

I'm only using google play music because it comes free with YouTube premium. However when it goes away I'll have to look elsewhere. I really don't know what google are playing at. YouTube music is trash.

You should be able to keep what you've bought. Maybe you can just download it to your computer.

True. However I believe Pixels are still superior to iPhones and Samsungs when it comes to shoooting:

-People
-Portraits of objects with blurred background.

For landscape and scenery shoots there is little in it between 2018 and 2019 flagships.

For video shooting however, Pixels are comfortably behind.

I would not be surprised. I’m getting some incredible photos and I noticed the Note 10+ camera plays with light the way my Pixel cameras have done. Meaning I now see subtle reflections of light off of surfaces that Samsung and IPhone used to flatten into nothing in their attempts to make a photo seem more colorful in the case of Samsung or warmer in the case of iPhones.

Since the S10+ my Samsung is the only phone camera I trust to get beautiful shots of a full moon over the ocean. My iPhone XR sometimes can get some nice shots. My Pixel 3XL is a noisy muddy mess toward the outer edges away from the moon and the reflection of light off the water.

In other news my and I have noticed our Notes have greatly spontaneously improved in battery life and we don’t know why but hey, that’s great!

My husband is also pleased with how his Note is working with his Android Auto vs how his Max is working with Car Play.

Hmph! I would not know about that. My cars are too primitive. :p

I've always had issues with Android phones getting consistent and reliable connection with vehicles. It's nothing too bad, but enough to be annoying. Especially when disconnecting Android Auto and getting it to reconnect via Bluetooth. I'm hoping my iPhone won't have the same issue.

Our car (2013) is too old for CarPlay but is ok for android auto. I haven't tested it out yet. My husband has ignored android auto already in favour of the built Mercedes stuff and I'm not sure if me trying to get android auto working would just cause confusion.

Well my husband doesn't use android auto but his phone (note 8) is somehow connected to the built in module via bluetooth and it seems to be quite stable. He's able to do navigation via the built in module and he can receive and respond to texts on the display, make and receive calls (all hands free) and play music. I don't really know how it all works because I've never bothered to look into it but it must be quite straight forward because my husband isn't technically inclined.

The Note 8 photo looks really good. And viewed by itself would please most people. But wow, when you see the light playing off surfaces in the room in the Note 10 picture, you realize what advantages these incremental improvements bring.

Edited to add, that restaurant or cafe is gorgeous. Wish I were there.

Which camera resolution setting? On page 82 (4th picture) notice how you don't lose quality even after zooming but i am not sure which camera setting i used. I was switching between them all. The details of the pic shows 4608×2592 resolution.
